The Fraternal Order of Police lodge in Baltimore City is asking for Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby to remove herself from the Freddie Gray investigation and appoint a special prosecutor. On Friday, Mosby announced she was filing charges against six officers in the death of Freddie Gray.
According to Capital Gazette, the president of the Fraternal Order of Police lodge argues she has a personal conflict due to connections with both Freddie Gray’s attorney Bill Murphy and her husband, City Councilman Nick Mosby.
Attorney and former judge William (Bill) H. Murphy, Jr. represents the Gray family.
Murphy was also a supporter and donated to Mosby’s campaign when she ran for office. According to state filing records, Murphy donated $5,000 dollars to Marilyn Mosby’s campaign.

She will either voluntarily recuse or will be ordered to.
Fox on Saturday night “Judge Jeanine Pirro” completely discredited the prosecutor, including the fact that she has NEVER prosecuted a murder case, ever.
she probably will recuse herself but this was going to be done no matter who was in charge to stop the riots.
This was way too quick to build a case for a grand jury. Some GJ cases take months to prepare before charges are brought.
So? Are we going to criticize the free speech exercised by the family attorney because the prosecutor made an irresponsible decision? I don’t get this.
According to Judge Alex, this is normal behavior between lawyers .. they support each other. She was only a lawyer running for election when he gave the support.
And .. I believe this donation transaction took place way BEFORE the “incident”.

And he knew darn well that if she won, there was a real good chance she'd be involved in cases in which he was a lawyer. One could question if a trial lawyer should even be allowed to donate for a city's attorney candidate.
That is why unions, groups, foundations, corporations, organizations, individuals, etc can give money and there is nothing wrong with it under the law nor is .gov gonna help their cause later for such donations.
That is an extremely tenuous conflict of interest.
Am conflict, so weak that our judicial system would come to a half if we were to trace the campaign donations of every attorney and party to a legal proceeding.
Almost every trial lawyer donates to candidates in judicial races.
How would he know that ..?? What type of cases does he handle .. are they all “criminal” ..??

There are no rules when you ‘know’ you are right, and you are on the side of what you ‘know’ is justice. It's so easy to rationalize just about anything.
I’m saying that he had to know there was the potential for a conflict of interest. The whole thing about donations to campaigns for judges is a bad idea.

This is SOP for Dems in general; they do as they wish, and use their media to attack any Republican or conservative that does the same. The hypocrisy is simply whitewashed from the news.
Of course you are right. Their demands will be bigger, the organizing factions will grow bolder and the protests and riots will be both more widespread and dangerous
You don’t see a conflict of interest that Freddie Gray’s families lawyer was the prosecutors biggest campaign contributor??? He is bringing a civil case and she is prosecuting the criminal case, which will definitely effect the outcome of the civil case.
She should recuse herself. She won’t, because there will be no pressure for her to do so.
