When I was 17,(63 now) I was hunting jackrabbit outside of Yucca Valley and saw a windowless craft going right past me at about 20mph and 100-120 yards away. I wish to this day I had a rifle instead of a shotgun, I would have pinged it to see if it was real.

I can only guess what you must have seen. I was kid and crazier then than I am now. I was thinking .22 rifle. couldn’t do any harm and it may have made a plunk noise when it hit.

I saw a triangular shaped object block out the clouds one moon lit night. It was going slow and was quiet.

I studied UFOs for a long time (not much anymore), and I concluded that they are manifestations of a non-human intelligence or energy, and probably NOT interplanetary spaceships.

So a "ping" may or may not establish if the craft was "real," that is, not a figment of your imagination. UFOs sometimes behave like physical objects, sometimes like ghosts or phantoms.

I don't even like the term "UFO," because it suggests that the objects are "flying" in the normal sense of the term, rather than merely creating the appearance of flying, something like a spotlight on a cloud.

It was a strange experience. My brother and friend were about 10 miles away that day in Yucca Valley hunting jackrabbits and they also saw three similar objects at a short distance or so it seemed.

IMO Anything filmed through a triple panes airplane window can’t be taken seriously

My husband and I recently saw a strange orb kind of like these on a flight at night. We watched it for about half an hour, did some experiments to make sure it wasn’t reflections of light in the cabin. It was definitely outside the plane. We didn’t see any blinking lights, like an aircraft would have. The light did slowly change colors. It was fascinating. We finally just agreed it was probably an airplane going into Portland at a strange angle or through atmospheric conditions that would keep us from seeing the blinking lights. Kinda neat.

A classmate and I were walking to his home, around 1969. We were on a sideroad next the the freeway., so when we saw three objects approaching super fast, stop, and zoom off at 45*, I thought it must be headlights on the powerlines. We both saw the same thing, but what do ninth graders know.
I brought the incident up at our 20th HS reunion in 1992. He’s an Architect now, but later he had thought it was a dream.
