Most likely to get Federal subsidies and tax breaks at every level.

I doubt it’ll be a dry town.

There’ll be a cantina.

I’m curious as to why Chewy isn’t gray-haired, too...?

Right, if they won’t let him do his own thing then he will bring down all their property value by building.

Politically correct housing that is well under the value for it’s neighborhood would greatly reduce the locals home values; brilliant.

I think it would be more than fair to place a slew of Section Eight housing among rich liberal enclaves. I’m sure they’d love the diversity and inclusiveness of their new neighbors.

LOL! Brings new meaning to the term “downsizing”. There’s a program on one of the cable stations about “tiny houses”. Wouldn’t be room enough from my guns (if I had any) guitars and other accessories.

Old joke all Marin residents know:

After you cross the Golden Gate Bridge heading out of San Francisco, you end up in Marin County and pass through the Waldo Tunnel where the arch is painted like a rainbow (long predating the gay rights movement's acquiring the rainbow as the gay standard; the Waldo Tunnel rainbow scheme is supposed to be indicative of the rainy/sunshine climate that produces the rainbows that Marin -- and San Francisco, for that matter -- is famous for).

Here's a pic of the rainbow painted on the Waldo Tunnel:

The old joke is "That's the last color you're going to see in Marin County.", acknowledging that Marin County is practically 100% white, rich, and liberal.

George Lucas' notion to put up a public works projects on his land has got to have the Marin County Board of Supervisors bouncing off the walls trying to come up with a way to kerbosh his idea without appearing racist.

I grew up out there and have visited it on vacation for 30 years. Lucas is absolutely correct. The Lucas Valley homeowners totally deserve this. It's not merely funny, but appropriate.

OTOH, there really are major problems with existing septic tanks leaching into Papermill Creek. Lucas' proposed development will magnify those problems about 5-6 times. If I were on the Marin County boards which have to approve the development, I'd condition it on the developer increasing the local sewer plant's capacity enough. The Environmental Impact Reports on that plus the development itself could easily be tied up in court for 10+ years.

I am definitely downsizing in the future - but not into a shoebox!

But, fine; that leaves more LAND for me! :)

What, help the poor because it’s a way of pissing off your neighbors? It stinks all the way around.

The second picture from the bottom. Those overlook the Henry Hudson Parkway and the Hudson River. They were not ‘the projects’. At least from what I can remember and the resemblance ... I traveled that road many times to the Metropolitan Museum.

What kind of weirdos LIVE in these tiny houses? Yeesh! The lime green Port-a-Potty is a nice addition to da 'hood, LOL!

Ah now, come on! Sure, "weirdos" by one template, but by another, just simple men, simple folks, wanting to live out their lives on their own terms. If it means ending up living this much on the cheap -- if they're happy (and it looks like they are), why outlaw it happening naturally, and enforcing it via government charity such as "affordable housing"?

I guess it's just because I know some pretty gentle souls who were/are weirdos, absolutely, measured by some gages, and harmless simple souls by others. I've also known bad wierdos. The second kind are rare, but ... maybe a little like Lucas.

The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) created requirements for each incorporated city to provide its share of “below market rate” housing. It probably provides 1% of the actual affordable housing demand. They hold lotteries for the units and a very few extremely lucky people win one. Liberals are all gaga over the good they’ve done for these few winners of the lottery. It really does make you sick.
