Illegal Alien Gets 29 Months for Identity Theft After Living in U.S. More Than 30 Years
CNS News ^ | 04/10/2015 | By Terence P. Jeffrey

Jose Alegria-Garcia, an illegal alien from El Salvador who has been in the United States illegally for more than 30 years, has been sentenced to serve 29 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to unlawfully using a Social Security number, falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen and stealing the identity of a U.S. citizen.

The victim, a U.S. national living in New York, stated that he found it difficult to obtain the benefits he was entitled to through Social Security because government records indicated that he was working in Alaska. In fact, Alegria-Garcia was working in Alaska, having stolen the victim’s identity.”

The SSA Office of Inspector General has also noted that the Social Security Administration has a long-term problem with W-2s filed by employers on which the name and Social Security Number do not match.

Last November, the OIG issued its fiscal 2014 “Statement on the Social Security Administration’s Major Management and Performance Challenges.” It said that from 2003 to 2012 employers submitted 89.7 million no-match W-2s. The SSA accounts for these in what it calls the “Earnings Suspense File.”

“Per the latest available data, the ESF had accumulated over $1.2 trillion in wages and 333 million wage items for Tax Years 1937 through 2012. In Tax Year 2012 alone, SSA posted 6.9 million wage items, representing $71 billion, to the ESF. From Tax Years 2003 to 2012, the ESF grew by approximately $749 billion in wages and 89.7 million wage items, representing about 62 percent of the total wages and 26 percent of the total wage items.”

When the SSA used to send out statements, I had a problem with mine for two years in a row so I contacted the SSA to figure out the problem, to make sure my identity wasn't stolen or their system hadn't made an error.

I was told that I was not old enough to collect benefits, so I had no business questioning their calculations.

The penalty for identity theft needs to be at least the same as for trafficking heroin.

The SSA Office of Inspector General has also noted that the Social Security Administration has a long-term problem with W-2s filed by employers on which the name and Social Security Number do not match.

Check the one at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, D.C. A possibility of identity theft exists there.

Let’s see, Obama is known to have utilized 19 or more SS numbers.

29 months times 19 SS cards is 551 months.

Divide that by 12 and you have come up with 46 years.

I’ll take it as long as it’s in a super max and no parole and neither a Republican President or a Democratic President can pardon him.

“...The other gets elected POTUS.”

If he was not “half black”, it never would have happened. Pandering to “race victims” in this country is TOTALLY out of control. Our great Federal government.

I doubt it, and if they did deport him, he will be right back, probably collecting benefits.

“”The SSA Office of Inspector General has also noted that the Social Security Administration has a long-term problem with W-2s filed by employers on which the name and Social Security Number do not match.””

And yet, it has gone on year after year after year... I guess they feel they should be congratulated on doing their job because they know this much about it at least! FIX THE COTTON PICKIN’ PROBLEM!!!

Every employer filing a report of earnings receives a notice from SSA if the SS number and name do not match their records. There is no downside for the employer as they are simply advised to “take no action” against that employee. They are advised to have the employee just furnish his correct social security number and correct the filing of the employer. That’s it!!!! Of course, the employer knows he’s not going to get the correct number and that’s the end of it. No one is penalized!! BUT if the employer was to fire an employee who could not provide proof of his SS number, the SWHTF.....
