We can make a computer fit in an envelope, but I guess we’re still working out the kinks on the charger.

Actually, USB-C is probably going to be everywhere in the next few years. But I still laugh at these Apple spoofs.

One of the reasons they have only 6% PC market share

But one of the only things I liked about other people’s Macbooks was the magnetically latched charger port. Somebody trips on your charging cord strung halfway across the floor and the cord just pops out instead of breaking the connector or pulling your laptop off of the table.

USB-C ports were not developed at Apple or by Apple, the new models merely use them, Apple’s an early adopter.

Of course, the big issue here is that USB-C epitomizes White Privilege, and causes both the oppression of women and global warming.

Yep...my MBP has that. It’s neat but I have that nagging uneasy feeling about how much a replacement is gonna cost if this one ever gets messed up. That yellow/green LED built into the magnetic head with the cord permanently connected to the main part has got to cost some bucks to replace.

I just paid $70 to replace my son’s charge cord for his MacBook Air.

It’s no big deal. I had to replace on and I think I paid $60.

It’s like car dealers. They make their money on financing, and service rather than the car sale.

Great spoof...that is indeed one of my big gripes w Apple products. I’ve got a drawer full of Apple chargers going back to the round mechanical plug, two favors of MagSafe, and plenty of Lightning pieces.

There are no children working in the factories unless they are using stolen or forged IDs. Apple audits the workers on their assembly lines and FoxConn is required to PAY for any child's education through college if any are found working un violation of the contract. So they are VERY diligent to prevent it from happening. The workers at FosConn are between 18 and 32. Sorry, you are again wrong.

Actually, I've seen a story floating around that Apple did design USB-C, but didn't make that public; instead, they submitted to the standards committee.

I may be older than many other posters here but I remember all the bemoaning and criticism that was wide-spread when computers began eliminating 5 1/4” floppy disc slots from computers. Later the same whining occurred when 3 1/2” slots were eliminated.

Some folks just don’t understand progress and continuous improvements and have limited ability to adjust to tech progress.

For the last quarter of 2014 they were 7.1% of total PC sales, making them the 5th largest shipper of PCs.

They also had 18.9% year to date growth...more than any other PC manufacturer.

Well, it’s one thing to change the iOS devices from 30-pin to Lightning, as it has only been one change since the original 2001 iPod.

USB-C will be the third notebook power supply used for MacBook in the last three years. I can see that as annoying for stability.

On the other, other hand, fewer people really expect cross-device compatibility for a full-fledged computer vs. a music player, phone or tablet, where the user typically has a lot more invested in accessories. (Peripherals, on the other, other, other hand...)
