Their coffee is much better anyway. When my coffee bean source dried up temporarily I got some beans from Dunkin Donuts. Not bad and a fraction of the price.

Yes, the people in the back of the line will be very patient as two idiots engage in racial philosophy; one is ordering and the other one is making coffee. I think I’ll walk in with a cup of MacDonald’s coffee, sit down, and enjoy the show.

I read this the opposite as you did. Where I live, NYC area, all the baristas are black or spanish. So I took the policy as having black people harass white customers all day about how racist they are. And the clientele would LOVE it in a self-hating way.
I guess it depends on where you are from what this policy would look like. If one of the ones around here started telling me about race relations I’d just give them the finger and leave.

IMO, they calculated the demo numbers, and figured that most of those with common sense are already put off by the overly high prices and the hippie-chic image, and contribute little-to-nothing to the bottom line.
That leaves a bunch of Obola/DNC voters that are still attracted to the Utopia desire to "make the world a better place" by being stupid, and aren't put off by liberal utter nonsense if they can still be "youthfully" hip.
IOW, they're appealing to their mostly dumbed-down customer demo, and don't have to care about the opinions of those that aren't in that demo, since their base would have a knee-jerk reaction to doing the right thing and not being abused by corporate leftists.
