LEHI — Officers booked a man Wednesday afternoon after a 10-year-old girl disclosed the suspect had sexually abused her last summer.
During an interview at the Children’s Justice Center, the victim said she was swimming at a neighbor’s home in Lehi during the summer of 2014. During that time, the neighbor’s uncle, Jeff Hunt, came out and got in the pool with the victim and with her friends.
They started to play a game of “shark,” but during the game, Hunt, 42, reportedly made the victim grab and squeeze his crotch underwater. She also stated he had reached up and underneath her swimming suit. She told officers he was “feeling around.”
The victim reportedly said the actions made her feel very uncomfortable, and she described them as “abuse.”
The victim said she barely knew Hunt, except from around the neighborhood and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward they attended.
Hunt was found Wednesday morning and arrested without incident. After he was read his rights, he invoked his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to speak to officers without an attorney present.
Based upon the information provided by the victim, Hunt was booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of two first-degree felony charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two second-degree felony charges of sexual abuse of a child.
The guy was in the pool with this girl and her friends. Wouldn’t the friends have noticed something going on? And if they did, I’d be surprised if none of them talked about it before now.
So, if it had been “Catholic parish” or Methodist church” instead, would you have felt the need to boldface those words in your quoted section too?

And this kid? Funny how he gets arrested on merely her word. I would hate for this to be true, but it’s a little fishy to me.

You are very reliable in Colofornia's crusade. There's something to be said for reliability - Obama is reliable too though, so no telling what it is that's being said. For that matter, I guess I'm reliable too - need to rob you of that particular venue by fessin' up first...
