Just how ginormous is Apple Inc. now?
As the iPhone-maker’s shares continue to set fresh record highs, its market cap is now above $765 billion. Combined with Exxon Mobil Corp.'s pullback over the past six months, Apple has pulled off the rare occurrence of being worth at least double any other publicly traded U.S. company. No. 2 Exxon’s market cap has eased to $374 billion.

PS: I love Apple products, it might amuse to know that I am responding to your banal posts on a mac right now. Having said that I hate their business model when it comes to production and manufacturing. When a supposed US company crosses international borders to produce and then import their product back in the USA to avoid paying decent wages then I get to have my say. Especially when you off shore to COMMUNIST country. I and all other taxpayers are on the hook as a tax payer for our idled work force. So the 20 bucks we "saved" buying a slave built i-phone comes back to bite us 100 times over.

I think amongst the 90 million unemployed Apple could fill its needs.
That is the common knowledge that everyone seems to share, but it is pure balderdash. Israel exists in spite of the lack of "critical" support from the USA or anyone else. Currently our government is doing everything they can to put Israel in danger of being nuked by Iran. We have broken every mutual defense agreement we ever had with them. The real reason Israel has a better chance of survival than Texas is they have Nukes and the will to use them.(Samson Option, not Masada)

That is the point. There are 50 states and over half are R-T-W. I believe in unfettered commerce in the USA, but once you cross that border then you need to be real careful. Apple could do all of its design and manufacturing in the USA and still be hugely profitable. So the only way to protect the US taxpayer is to tariff their imports. Call it a unemployment tax on off shore manufactures if you don't like the word tariff.
Well, I happen to think that the USA’s support for Israel has been critical for its survival, and continues to be today.
