An attorney for one of two Wisconsin girls accused of stabbing their classmate to please horror character Slender Man tried to convince a judge Tuesday to move her case into juvenile court, arguing that his client is mentally disturbed and believed she had to kill to protect herself and her family from the creature.
Taking the stand during the second day of a preliminary hearing, psychologist Deborah Collins testified that she has interviewed the girl several times and concluded she honestly believes Slender Man exists.
"(Her belief) hasn't wavered and it's been unyielding to a rational perspective," Collins testified.
Collins also testified that the girl told her she uses Vulcan mind control to keep negative emotions at bay and believes Harry Potter villain Lord Voldemort visits her when he's not away on business trips.
A private detective working for the defense testified he discovered more than 60 drawings of Slender Man in the girl's bedroom. Many of the sketches included notes such as "not safe even in your house" and "he is here always." One drawing depicted a girl lying on the ground and a person standing over her with the message "I love killing people" written over the figure.
The detective went on to say he found more than a half-dozen Barbie dolls in the bedroom that had been marked with Slender Man's symbol. Some were missing their hands and feet.
"I think we did a good job showing she believed (Slender Man) was real ... across time and environment," defense attorney Anthony Cotton said. "She believed in Slender Man. She believed he would hurt the family."
According to court documents, the girls told detectives they had been planning to kill Peyton Leutner for months.

Most of us are anesthetized and have lost all sensitivity to it. Its mainstream and ordinary. But some folks cannot discern the difference between reality and fiction.
On May 31, 2014, two 12-year-old girls in Waukesha, Wisconsin, allegedly held down and stabbed a 12-year-old classmate 19 times; when questioned later by authorities, they reportedly claimed that they wished to commit a murder as a first step to becoming "proxies" (acolytes) of the Slender Man, having read about it online. The victim was able to crawl out of woods, where she had been left, to get to a roadside. Due to the intervention of a passing cyclist, the victim survived the attack. The attackers were charged as adults and are each facing up to 65 years in prison. One of the girls said Slender Man watches her, can read minds and teleport. Experts testified in court that she also said she conversed with Lord Voldemort and one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

It sounds like the girl is seriously delusional, possibly paranoid schizophrenic.
She should be confined to a mental institution for the rest of her life. That used to be the practice with the incurably mentally ill. I do not know if the dangerously ill can still be confined like that.

Was seems left out of this article is the origin of this “character”. It’s not from a movie, tv show, book, or video game. This is entirely the creation of people on the internet, posting stupid stuff on forums about it, and it just spread from there.
So, obviously the parents were not supervising her very well if she was getting obsessed with junk like this.

Most people don’t realize that The Thin Man doesn’t refer to Nick Charles, but to another character that Nick was looking for in the first movie.
Hmmm...some resemblance to the Thelma cartoon character in the Scooby Do shows.
