Texting probed after Bruce Jenner rear-ends car, causing fatal crash

MALIBU, Calif. — Gender-bender reality-TV star Bruce Jenner rear-ended a car Saturday, causing an accident that killed a woman motorist.

Seven other people were injured in the accident, which happened shortly after noon on the Pacific Coast Highway near its intersection with Corral Canyon Road.

Jenner’s dark blue Cadillac Escalade was towing a dune buggy in a trailer when he rear-ended a white Lexus sedan being driven by an ­elderly woman.

Just reporting what I saw on the Local News last night.

Better yet, later on some Drunk guy driving a Volt came by the Accident Scene, ran through the Police Tape and ran into the wrecked Lexus and Hummer.

I think you’re right about Jenner holding a cell phone. It’s clearly on the inside as the edge of the glass obscures the side of the phone.

Also, regarding your close-up shot of Jenner, if you look at his arm angle, it is consistent with holding a phone and if he was actually holding a phone, it makes perfect sense you would then see the top of it protruding about the side rear-view mirror. That protrusion is not part of the mirror. I think this is pretty close to a smoking gun here.

Could be. Trouble in lanes ahead of him, distracted by paparazzi, not used to pulling a trailer, etc. Is the Escalade even his? His normal daily driver seems to be a big Mercedes. Claims that he might face anything criminal seem more unlikely as time passes.

I believe the Prius is pulled to the side of the road, just ahead of the other cars. I saw a picture of it yesterday, with minor rearend damage from the Lexus impact.

Yesterday I saw an article with a whole sequence of pictures. The sequence started before there was even contact and it definitely appeared to me by the way his hands were positioned that he was on a cell phone.

Side note. Bruce Jenner was in my home in San Jose, CA not many years after winning the Olympics trying to sell some kind of Gym equipment. His first marriage was to someone my husband and I knew very well. Chrystal Crownover. What a mess he has become.

Don’t know how it works in California, but it Texas, it is his fault. Doesn’t matter whether someone slams on their brakes or not. They have some phrase about, “failure to follow at a safe distance.” If you hit them from behind - it would take a miracle not to have it called your fault.

You can see from the photo he wasn’t texting. He was, however, being chased by paparazzi.

I agree with you about the paparazzi, who should be charged if possible. But disagree about the texting. He looks to me VERY much as if he’s holding something up at wheel level and looking at that instead of at traffic. It’s obscured by the mirror so you can’t quite see it. I won’t be surprised at all if police are able to establish that he was texting or on Facebook or something when the crash occurred.

Wrong, it was created by the driver which caused the collision.

Just because someone is taking your picture, does not give one an excuse or the right to race though traffic so their picture can’t be taken...End of story.

This idiot and his insurance company will be sued into bankruptcy by multiple parties..

This is the first “time of impact” photo in which her face was not blurred out. Looks like she is wearing her seat belt and doesn’t look like she is passed out from any medical problem. Story is she rear ended someone else but in the Daily Mail/TMZ time of impact photos, her front end didn’t look damaged at all before the Hummer impact. DM also said she is neighbors of Bruce’s kid and step-kid.
