That's good. Since we all know that if you like your doctors, you can keep your doctors, all will be well.
I should have gone into the insurance biz. Where else could you run such a completely legitimate scam machine and get government bailouts to boot.
A while back I realized I was woefully underinsured to make sure Mrs. ArGee has enough time to get her feet under her if I die. So I applied for life insurance.
My liver enzymes were a tad high. Not a lot high. Not enough for my doctor to even recommend any action, but no insurance without a diagnosis and the hepatologist insisted he needed a biopsy for that.
Srsly? Let him cut out a piece of my liver when there are no indicitations of illnesses that might impact the liver? Are you bananas? I’ll try another insurance company, thank you.
But, as part of the process I did get an ultrasound which showed a healthy liver, but an enlarged spleen and polyps on my gallbladder. The second insurance company thought my blood tests were fine but wants to be sure the polyps aren’t cancerous. Everything else about my medical history makes me Prime Plus, but I had to get that sonogram.
AAAUUUGGGHHHH.
It looks like the best thing I can do for Mrs. ArGee is divorce her now and let her marry a NYC gazillionaire before I kick the bucket.
She’s a wonderful woman if any of you are gazillionaires.

My son’s then-new wife tried to get life insurance on me when they first got married several years ago, but my liver enzymes were up and I have chronic fatigue syndrome. However, according to the insurance company, the chronic fatigue was first on the list and NO ONE has ever died from it, or died from complications of it. And the liver enzymes are improving, thanks to a little pill called “milk thistle.”
Anyway, I have no life insurance, so all my kids will get is the proceeds from whatever of mine they sell. I’ve decided to donate my body to science, and when they are done with it, they can cremate it, split the ashes and send an urn to each kid. One can have the right half and one can have the left half.
I was just on Facebook with one of my nieces who has been having a problem with a product she bought, and tried to employ the “protection plan.” I told her that when I worked in a camera shop in Reseda, CA, they told me to try and sell the protection plan with every camera because it was pure profit and people seldom had occasion to use it. I hated retail.
I think insurance companies are the same way...they just want the money coming in.

I had conforming insurance, also. But Obozocare has caused the companies in NYS to stop offering some things that I used to really appreciate - like out-of-network care. I get my insurance through the Freelancer’s Union and they really tried to keep out-of-network coverage available for us. It just no longer exists.

I never buy protection plans, but I'm going to suggest my daughter start buying them. I got her a new camera which she took to Colombia with her. The first week someone knocked it out of her hands and it broke. The fix is more expensive than a new camera. If I'd bought the plan...
Anyway, I'm clumsy, but little ArGee is clumsier so she gets the plan from now on.
But see, in my twisted logic, if someone is clumsy and needs a protection plan, then those who aren’t clumsy and bought the same protection are paying for the repairs for the clumsy one. Works fer me! ;o]

Welp, my aide is a no-show. She was supposed to be here at 0800 PDT and by 0825, I was on the phone to cancel her debut.
I will take another pain pill and go change the sheets myself. Maybe I’ll even dust the floors...
