Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said at the Super Bowl media day on Tuesday that though he loves playing football, his "faith is everything".
Wilson, 26, said that while he wanted to be recognised as a successful football player – a "winner" – he also wanted to leave a legacy as a Christian man who serves others.
"In terms of my legacy off the field, I want to be a Christian man that helps lead and helps change lives and helps serve other people. It's not about me, you know," Wilson said. "It's not about me and it's about just helping other people. So that's kind of where I keep my focus."
During the interviews he included a shout out to children's hospital in Seattle he visits every Tuesday. "To all the kids out there, I'm just praying for you guys, and praying for miracles" he said.

"In terms of my faith, my faith is everything: God comes first, family and friends come second, and football comes third," he said. "I think when you keep it in that order, great things happen to you. You don't stress out about much."
Speaking of the importance of integrity, he said: "We all make mistakes or whatever, but we're football players. We're able to use our gifts. For me, I'm able to use my gift to glorify God. That's what it's about for me."

Yeah, they fell apart in the second half against Indy after the balls were inflated to the satisfaction of the doofus officials who have no record of the balls original psi.

Ok, so a bit will be about this Wilson fellow, whom I like now, and a bit about Marshawn Lynch, who’s ridiculous, but mostly it’s going to be about wanting to see the Pats get stuffed in a bag and left at the curb, or composted - which I hear is mandatory in Seattle.
Agreed...dumped the wife for a sportier model. But he says he Christian so all will be forgiven here.
The skinny....rumor about RW and his wife. She was having an affair with another player on the team. They both have been cut loose.
I was just watching Russell Wilson “miked-up” during the last NFC championship game. Normally when players are miked up you hear all kinds of profanity. But during Russell’s “miked-up” you heard him praying and singing gospel songs. He’s my kind of player!
Indy was demoralized and had given up the fight in 2nd half. Seahawks never gave up with Packers. WIth 6 minutes to go hawks were 19:7 and came back to win!
Anyway it should be a great game.

By the way Marshawn Lynch grabs his crotch to loosen up his tight underpants, not to deride the opposition. I once played with a golfer, almost a scratch player who did the same thing after every shot. Swollen & bruised balls is the most likely cause.
Marshawn Lynch never utters profanity. He is a vigorous supporter of disadvantaged kids in Oakland, CA. He is extremely shy, which explains his reluctance to appear in press interviews.
Swollen balls? I think the Patriots can help with that.

Pats kick a 40 yard field goal with no time on the clock remaining, for an apparent 3-0 win.
The ball is inspected after the game and found to be over inflated. NFL declares the FG was illegal.

Wilson reminds me of Joseph, where he planned on divorcing her quietly, rather than having her stoned, as Joseph was a man of God. ;) (Well - it DOES seem the Christian thing to do - as opposed to all over the taploids as other famous people seem to do.) I have no idea what really happened, but it is telling that his ex-wife hasn’t been all over the tabloids about what happened. Perhaps she too just wanted to divorce quietly. Or perhaps got an out-of-court settlement to part ways and stay quiet.
And I’ll blame his support of obamacare (and indirectly abortion) on his youthful ignorance.
Heck, I know adults that are Bible believing Christians, anti-gay marriage, but still think obama is mostly great. Although several of them HAVE changed their minds over the years as they figure out what he is really about.

A good “Christian” man would have tried to work on his marriage. But no problem with Wilson, he just went out and found himself another white girl. Rich athletes, white or black, have no problem getting as many as they want.
