iPhone users have a reputation for being smug – and now they may have a good reason.
A recent study has found that people who use an iPhone are smarter than those who prefer Android devices.
This is based on research that found states with more college graduates also tend to have higher iPhone sales.
The study, by Massachusetts-based advertising group Chitika, discovered that Alaska, Montana and Vermont have the largest number of iPhone users in the US.
These states also have the highest percentage of college graduates.
Meanwhile, New Mexico, Iowa and Delaware have the lowest percentage of people who use iPhones, and a lower number of graduates.

Had a phone that ran on win95 once, it was great,as long as you re-booted it each morning. Was sad when it died.
As an android user, I feel dumber... because I just read this stupid article on my “smart” phone.
I like mayo with my fries. Tartar sauce is acceptable too.
I fine example of meaningless statistics. The range between “very low” and “very high” is 9%. Not very impressive.
I have iPhones. Both my wife and myself.
I’m a regular here on FR.
I’m therefore smarter than the average.
Proof, once again that iPhones attract intelligence.
This is what passes for proof in this study. It ignores the simple and well established fact that correlation does not equal causation.
OTOH, iPhones are better than Android phones.
Have I confused anyone?
The biggest differences is that Android doesn't restrict the user nearly as much as Apple does, so the Android becomes far more versatile, for those who want to do more than take pictures, email, and chat.
If you believe the article then, Apple owners may have more education, but Android users likely have more technical competence.
The "smart" people get their phones as part of a service contract with a carrier. They think they are getting the phone for free.
Bet you can’t say that again.

I use a cheap Tracfone becuse I can’t have a camera on mine. Don’t ask why. Better signal than my high tech phone.

The irony is that the Android OS is more sophisticated than the iPhone’s OS. But who really cares, use what you like.

Certainly. But I'll bet a lot of iPhone owners do.
I’ve heard it both ways many times, but in my physics courses it was always ‘infer’. They are similar enough that they convey the same message.
