Are you telling me Tom Brady can’t tell when a football is properly inflated?

I didn't say that. You said 'fact'...'nfl statement'...'brady cheated'. Now you say 'everyone who handled...knew'. That would include the center, quarterback, many officials, ballboys, and many defensive players that pick up the ball after a play. #BallDeflatedBradyGuilty

Its really not that complicated. Make all the excuses you want. The Patriots are cheaters. No integrity, no honor.

Because each team provides the footballs they use on offense. So the Colts use one set, and the Patriots use another set.

I didn’t make any excuses.

I just asked for you to prove your accusation, back up your ‘facts’. The ‘seriousness of the charge’ is what I get for an answer.

The first fact was that the linebacker said something after an interception. He says it didn’t happen that way. #BallDeflatedBradyGuilty

You can’t tell much between an 11 PSI ball and 13 PSI. Maybe about 1mm inward deflection from the grip of the thumb squeezing it.

That's incorrect. Think of it another way. Those balls were 15% to 20% under inflated. I played some college ball as a center. the "cushyness" of the ball make a difference, especially when it's wet. In fact, in shotgun formations, I liked the harder footballs because the slid of the turf/grass easier and more consistently than the softer balls.

That said, college balls are much different than professional balls.

” The ‘seriousness of the charge’ is what I get for an answer.”

The NFL admitted the footballs were under inflated. They don’t know who did it, and it doesn’t matter.

I’m surprised a Freeper would fight so hard to defend a group of cheaters.

This is a great conservative website, but when it comes to sports, a lot of folks channel their inner-liberals...dang...

I had a similar thought. This isn't about the AFC Championship game. It's about the game of football in the NFL.

Conservatives (me included) are rooted in the Rule of Law as it pertains to the Constitution. And most conservatives don't aspire to it's ok to break the law sometimes without consequences. Case in point; I dare you to start a vanity thread inviting FReepers to comment on what should happen to a driver that runs a red light to get out of the way of an ambulance all in front of a police officer. Trivial yes, but it is and should be a conservative conundrum. The driver did the right thing by breaking the law. But he did break the law.

FReepers are human and have lots of compassion. But most don't suffer fools, even in sports. Look at the lengths NASCAR has gone to try and keep their sport fair. NASCAR was built on smart guys innovating for advantages. The engineers are always a step ahead of the officials. Football is no different. If the Patriots broke the rules, as has been proven in the past, then they deserve to be punished. They are still going to the Superbowl and a 5 figure fine and a draft pick loss will be a small price to pay and forgotten in a year.

Did you read what you just wrote?

‘underinflated footballs’ - I dont think anyone is arguing with that.

We don’t know who did it, and it doesn’t matter - yup, that is what you wrote.

The patriots are ‘a group of cheaters’ - and that is the conclusion.

Forgive me if I don’t follow the logic. Not just your logic, but much of the spin on this whole thing. That is what I don’t get. Glad it is just football...

This is the biggest much ado about nothing. Too bad the haters here and in the media would spend even half the effort they do about the Patriot inflated balls exposing Obama about his lying and breaking laws were it would do some good.

Why would deflated balls only benefit the Pats?

You need to get caught up on the details, FReeper.

I dunno about 'forgotten in a year'. The culture of cheating is so tied to the pats. All this feigned outrage won't be forgotten, and it will be brought back with a vengance the next time Tom Brady or Coach Bill gets a speeding ticket...Ray Lewis, Pete Carroll...lots of others...but the Patriots are suspected/accused of doing something, and everything blows up...

So says you. Is this Nancy Pelosi posting on FR? What difference does it make at this point anyway? Right? So they bent the rules a little...

Too bad the haters here and in the media would spend even half the effort they do about the Patriot inflated balls exposing Obama about his lying and breaking laws were it would do some good.

We agree on this point. And now you can also look at your own contradiction as well.

I also played football and I own two 2 NFL footballs. I just inflated 1 under the recommended PSI. I can’t get much deflection out of it from my normal squeeze, which I would still perceive to be a normally inflated football.

However, I don’t trust the PSI gauge on the compressor that I’m getting an accurate reading for low pressure inflation. And it’s “tackified” instead of the usual leather cover but “NFL” and size. The Tackified to prevent scuffing is for throwing around in the street or wherever like bouncing it off hater heads at 30 yards.

The other one is genuine leather, Pete Tagliabue NFL game ball, but unfortunately it’s located at my other place.

So this gives me an excuse to buy another official NFL size football, and a ball pressure gauge to test this nonsense, and to maybe rifle it through people and other things.

Down by 2 scores with over half a game left doesn’t mean you have to abandon the run. As the Seahawks proved in the early game down by 2 scores with 7 minutes left doesn’t mean you have to abandon the run. Pagano chose to go one dimensional, which is a bad choice to make against the Pats. The fact that they had the 22nd ranked run offense in the league this season probably played a lot more into abandoning the run than the score, they simply aren’t a good run team.

The Patriots provided the under inflated footballs. The footballs which were in violation of the rules.

But keep digging, its fun to watch.
