It seems to work. It is one of the most prosperous countries in the world, and has one of the lowest crime rates anywhere.
Every one of those Asian countries is xenophobic to a level that makes the real life Nazis seem mild.
I admire much there but question much as well.
We get called xenphopes and Imperialists.

I’m having a hard time grasping that. Japanese people definitely like themselves pretty well, but having hosted nine or 10 exchange students, I must disagree. They are typically interested in and enjoy the company of people from other countries, although some are shy about making English errors in front of people. If they didn’t like foreigners, why would there be so many marriage between Japanese and Americans? Also, in our area, it is common for Japanese to come and live for a few years due to a corporate assignment, and then go home. Some of their kids in public school stay in their cliques, but a lot don’t.
I”m willing to bet the Koreans are more xenophobic than the Japanese. At least the ones we know, while courteous, seem more reserved.
Japan is on record as the most xenophobic country there is.

Actually, they forget their history, as well. The young people we know have no knowledge of history or what Japan did in WWII. Either they never learned it, or it was names/dates/take the quiz/forget about it. If they do know something unpleasant, they block it out and hope to talk about something else.
Actually, we have found that history deficit with all our exchange students from various countries, though. Apparently, if you live in places with a long history, you don’t learn it. You take it for granted. American school kids, reenacting the Gold Rush and the Revolution and such seem to know more about what things in the past are affecting the present.

I will go help out the young women of japan. Its hard, um um, difficult task but I will step up to the task and give it my best effort.
I have always thought Japanese women to be very sexy. Don’t know any Japanese women so maybe it’s their personality thats off putting.
