BOSTON - The NFL confirmed multiple footballs used in the AFC Championship were under-inflated, ESPN reported late Tuesday evening.

Sports Center tweeted just after 11 p.m. that the New England Patriots let air out of 11 of 12 game balls on Sunday.

The Patriots are making me do the unthinkable and that’s root for Pete Carroll and the Seahawks in the Superbowl

you took the words right out of my mouth! i cannot stand either team, but as a Niner fan, i loath the Seahawks more... i was willing to go for the Patriots (cannot stand Brady nor Belichick) but dang it! i am starting to feel movement toward the Seahawks!

Reminds me of Watergate.

No way in hell Nixon loses to McGovern (and everybody knew it...even me, a hippy-dippy liberal in college in 1972) and they break into the Democrat HQ?!

New England would beat the Colts 10 out of 10 times....so why cheat?

Thanks. Of course, competent journalists would ask the questions themselves. Okay now, quit laughing.

I would think that the kickers and punters would want a fully inflated ball. It should help the QBs, receivers and backs to have them less hard.

I’m no Belicheck fan but it IS the responsibility of the league to issue the proper balls....and if the balls were deflated, they were deflated for both teams....

If this is true, then Belichek (sp ?) should suffer the same penalty that Sean Payton got—1 year suspension and loss of salary for that year. The Pat coach has a history of cheating and he should not be allowed to plead ignorance.

The home team provides the personnel on the sidelines that handle the balls during the game. This seems ludicrous to me that with all its wealth, the NFL is not responsible for total custody of all the balls used in every game. This means prior to the game, during the game, and after the game. They should never be allowed out of the sight of NFL personnel.

“...but dang it! i am starting to feel movement toward the Seahawks!”

Don’t worry. Sherman will say something to piss you off. Or Marshawn WON’T say anything and piss you off! Even the local Seattle radio guy is getting tired of Baldwin’s “we don’t get no respect” attitude.

BTW - Go Hawks!

and if done, believe me, the league wanted it that way....they have already decided who has won the superbowl anyway....don’t trust professional sports....they can do whatever they want because its their league.

Makes a difference IF, again IF, pre-tested on a large frame receiver such as Bronkowski.

Pete Carroll is a liberal moron. He makes me sick. Russell Wilson is a super guy off the field and pretty darn good on the field!

Besides Belichick, the OC McDaniels has his own Spygate 2 episode. If this latest infraction requires a penalty, one of the two coaches requires a suspension, longer than the one doled out to Sean Payton.

And fines and draft pick penalties will be handed out after the Superbowl coverage is done.

Least that’s a guess, we are talking New England Patriots here, right? The show shall go on.

Brady said it didn’t happen. I guess that means he lied 11 times and told the truth once.

If this didn’t a difference then why did they deny it?

By the way, not once Colt has said it made a difference.

“I hate the Seahawks, but I have to root for them in the Super Bowl because I cannot [and will NEVER] root for the Patriots.”

S’ok.......I will do enough rooting for the Pats for the both of us. Any doubt that both Brady and Belichick will be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame?

This isn’t just about passing. What killed the Colts was LeGarrette Blount, who is rather fumble-prone. RBs do not fumble with deflated balls.

No they dont’t play with the same footballs. The teams supply their, own when on offense. Indy found out about it when they picked off Brady early in the game, the info was passed up the chain, and the nfl was aware by half time that New England was cheating.

Hopefully goodell doesn’t’ burn these footballs like he burned the video tape evidence from the cheating pats.

Lots of people talk about the lack of integrity in the world, then laugh this off.

How many other times did the pats cheat, and not get caught.

What I wonder is why they think they have to cheat to win?

Somebody has a confidence problem, as well as a sportsmanship problem.

When you cheat, you are a loser and you know it. You can put on the front, but you know you didn’t really win anything.
