Too late, I cancelled two days ago.

We were paying about $75/mo. They offered me a $49/mo. rate for one year. I said thanks but no thanks. Then they offered a $50 reduction per month from my current rate for a year. I told them no, but thanks for the offer. They wanted to know if we had something else lined up. We don’t, and I told him that.

Dang it. I was going to call and threaten to cancel to see what they would do to sweeten the pot. Too late now.

...and I just received notice that my monthly Dish bill will be going up by $5.00 because of it.

P!$$ on Fox news. They stopped being conservative long ago. Now they are just water carriers for the GOPe.

I wonder which side caved>? This is all part on the death throes of content providers. The future is some sort of streaming where you choose what you want, when you want. That may not be a good thing. Good programming is expensive and producers need to know that they can recoup their investment. I gaze in amazement at the crap produced by The History Channel, H2, Discovery, AHC, and their ilk and wonder how it can possible get worse. We are about to find out.

My bet is that when townhall.com broke the news that the DISH CEO gave $64,000 to the Obama campaign, the DISH people cave today, just minutes ago on my TV, 205-206. Newsweek and the Blaze still have their channels too.

Charlie has been a devout Baraqqi since 2008. The hard part here is acting surprised.

just checked, here @ 6:30 back on. I’ve been watching BLAZE, Squawk Box in the a.m., re-runs of Law & Order and other stuff too. Couldn’t stomach MSNBC and CNN.

Maybe they’ll lose another 900,000 next month instead of the just 90,000 this past month, after we all enjoy our credit next month and then dump them!

Too late! Switched to Direct and have a much better picture. And maybe it won’t go out every time a little sun or rain hit my plate!

I think that the 90,000 represented 10% of their entire market share.

Back on mine as well.

Ergan is on 204 (I believe) apologizing and saying that Fox News and Fox Business will be on Dish for years to come.

There is an upside in that they gave us a $25 monthly break for the next six months.

Meanwhile I have been listening to both channels on Sirius and at home as well as they offer a free 30 day trial period to get it on the internet. Works just fine. Also have it in my car.

A win-win all the way around.

Just a FYI: A close relative had Dish for years and got a “deal” on Direct TV. Had it for a year and changed it back to Dish and got a “Hopper” receiver. Said the information provided by Dish was superior to that of Direct TV and he doesn’t even watch Fox. We’ll just stick with our dual tuner Dish receiver as it captures what we need and all the programming is already in it.

In any event all is well.
