911 for car trouble???? Why not? If the car is disabled in an unexpected place it is a hazard to other drivers. People, especially Obama's sons, call 911 because they didn't get enough fries fro Burger King.
Calling 911 because a vehicle is disabled on the road is a very legitimate use of that service.

I remember my Dad would still pick up hitchhikers when he was in his 60’s. He had quite a conversation with one guy in southwest Virginia who was just recently out of jail ...

You make me recall...my pop pulling over somewhere on the 5 FWY..going NW out of Oceanside / San Clemente picked up a Marine in his uniform...and my mom scooting over so he could get in...
Had to be early 60's.....I'd kinda forgotten about that!!
