Elway's right back where he was, pre-Manning, only now he's poorer and has egg on his face. I think he's going to blow a lot of cash and trade a lot of draft picks to secure another Manning. I don't think Elway has the patience to develop a team, let alone a quarterback.

Jay Cutler may be available.

Manning also had three full seasons, Tebow only had a partial season.

Manning in his decline is better than Tebow was in his prime.

Manning cost the Broncos 90+ million, Tebow 1.5 million.

Of course a veteran quarterback with many years of experience is going to have a better skill set. Tebow, fresh out of college will have to learn and adapt to the NFL. One season is not enough time to make that happen.

Is Manning a better quarterback? I will give you that. Is he 80+ million better .... based on his performance, not.

Manning cost the Broncos 90+ million, Tebow 1.5 million.

For that $90 million, Manning returned a 38 and 10 record, 132 touchdowns to 36 interceptions, three playoff appearances and one Super Bowl, and an average QB rating over 107. Not a bad return on investment as quarterbacks in the NFL go.

Tebow, fresh out of college will have to learn and adapt to the NFL. One season is not enough time to make that happen.

Tebow had three chances with three different clubs, including a chance to show his stuff at New England to one of the best coaches the NFL has ever had. The fact that he's performing on the SEC channel says all that needs to be said about his abilities to play the position.

Is Manning a better quarterback? I will give you that. Is he 80+ million better .... based on his performance, not.

Depends on your point of view. Like I said the Broncos won 36 games in 3 years with Manning. They won fewer than 36 in the 5 years prior. Manning won. He took them to the playoffs three times. He made a lot of money for the team. That makes him worth the money.

Great players rarely make good coaches. Good coaches need to motivate players, and teach those that lack the physical gifts to maximize their talent. Great players are self motivated and have the gifts. Good coaches come from the ranks of players that had short tough careers that involved a lot of washing out.

I don’t agree. The fans, team, and management are pretty satisfied with the way he is playing in New England.

An injury or some other factor could cause him to exit faster, but he is still playing at a high level and probably has at least two more years.

I think Fox is a good guy, and a pretty good coach, but I understand he and Elway have had low-to-medium friction for some time, not a 80% good relationship.

As a coach, I respect him, kind of the same way I feel about John Harbaugh as well, although I lost a little respect hearing him the other night after they lost. I suspect he was more upset at being caught with his pants down, but by and large, he is a decent coach...not like his whack-job brother!

The Patriots will get rid of Brady before the slide that is the Belichick way.

It will probably be different in this case. Brady is one of those players who will know when it is time to go.

I don’t have an issue with the way Belichick handles that end of things. It isn’t a nice side of the business, but that is the way he handles it.

I have been disappointed to see them get rid of certain players, but one thing I do like is that they don’t often hold on to someone because simply because they drafted him high or paid a lot of money to them. If they don’t perform, they leave.

I accept that end of things to be able to watch a team that always has a chance. You can’t win every year, but it is a lot of fun to watch a team that at least have a chance.

I appreciate it, because I began watching football in 1971, and the cycle is unmistakeable. When Belichick and Brady are gone, there is going to be a drought. That is just how it is.
