This show is a sleeper.
Clark is getting a little big for his britches. He picks a terrible song and neither Borchetta or 1/3 Rascal Flatts can convince him otherwise.
He sings it anyway. It's that song Scotty McCreery sang all the time when he was on the show. "Baby, lock the door, turn the lights down" something. You would hear this song as you're about to have a wisdom tooth removed.
Jlo : Some controversy. You sang it well, that's not the question. But you're on American Idol. Is this your gravy song? Your earlier songs blew us away and this didn't do it. You have to think of that.
Harry : IT boils down to hyper-specific song choice. You have to think about the audience more than yourself. It was kinda tepid, man. You have to knock it out of the park.
Keith : You don't need album tracks (filler) you need hits.
Clark spends several minutes trying to convince us (maybe himself) that this bland dentist office muzak really is his gravy.
Loving Jax. Love the song.

Borchetta and McBride are equally impressed with her.
She sings Christina Perri's "Human". She brings the drama to the song that Rayvon tried so hard to do. She drops to her knees and is consumed by the fog.
Harry : A perfect example of the technical. There were pitch issues, but I really felt what you were doing. Really nice, Jax.
Keith : Right now, you're fragile. You killed it.
Jlo : I loved it too. Love the way you look into people's eyes. So pure. Really great, Jax.
Harry: I thought we lost you in the cloud!
Does Tyler have a contract that he has to appear at least once every season now that he’s gone? Good grief.

I love Steven Tyler except when he screams the whole song. Parts, OK, but not the whole thing.

I agree. Never upstage the mentors and pretend you know more. He’s off, probably, next week. Plus, he sucked. Big time.

Vote gravy: Seacrest invites Rayvon's mom up on stage to give him a hug. They hug so long, Seacrest can't even cut in.
That was so sweet.....I wish one of my 3 would sing that to me....except, none of them can sing....lol
LOL! That kind of looks like Clark. Probably what he did backstage.
