Penalty to referee Mike Leggo. Two minutes for delay of game.
Fans were treated to an odd, if not gross, incident during Friday’s game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins. Play came to a halt midway through the first period after Leggo, an NHL official with over 1,000 games under his belt, vomited on the ice. Twice.
The game was delayed several minutes. Leggo was given the rest of the day off and the matchup resumed under the three-official system.

Lots of that seems to be going around and the “shot” has been declared ineffective.
Several of the Penguins have had mumps lately. Nausea and vomiting are some of the symptoms. Ref might have caught it from them.
Also—the Penguins, while incubating mumps, made a visit to the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. It’s where the very sick children are being treated.
Next day the story about them getting mumps was a headline on the Sports page!
Maybe he was barfing at how shamelessly the Pens dive.

He also vomited in the Zamboni entrance after leaving the ice. Poor guy.

Came from my college days, where we had a toilet seat mounted on the wall. Anyone who yakked from overindulgence had to sign the plaque.
