‘No resolve’ from mayor’s sitdown with NYPD unions

By Erin Calabrese

The head of the NYPD’s biggest union said a two-hour meeting with Mayor de Blasio did nothing to fix the shattered relationship between city cops and City Hall. “There were a number of discussions, especially about the safety issues members face. There was no resolve,” PBA President Pat Lynch said. “And our thought here today is that actions speak louder than words and time will tell.” Leaders of all five NYPD unions met with de Blasio, Police Commissioner Bratton and other NYPD brass at the Police Academy in Queens.

As it is, the police in NYC are corrupt...NYC had it’s hey-day and there’s only down to go.

You are an idiot for making a comment like that. Have you ever been to NYC?

It’s not to be targets and mayoral whipping posts. You want to do that, it’s your call. But they don’t and are not obligated to, legally or morally.

Thanks for your reply. Respectfully, some of us are compelled to travel to NYC, like it, or not. We prefer to have NYPD on the side of the law abiding, Communist Mayor, be damned.

Yes.. I grew up in NYC and live there part of the time. The hey-dey was the late 90s and 2000s.

I had an issue with the police a few years back. I was driving my car with my nephew and sister-in-law. I exited my car and the sirens flashed. i was told to get back in my car. Then i was given a ticket for no seat belt when I had one on. When I politely asked for the officers name I was threatened they could give me nephew a ticket too. Since he was a minor that would a misdemeanor.

I filed with Community Relations board. I was told since we were the same race nothing could be done. I then found the hidden website for internal affairs. They called me a month later at NYE at 1130PM. (Hoping to get me drunk?) Then 6am New Years day. When I called back 3 days later, they told me case was already closed. I re-filed and they called back 1 1/2 yrs later.

Or should we talk about the time my car was broken into and the cop didn’t want to do a police report till I showed him my PBA card? And it was a spot with constant break-ins, there was film, and they didnt care...

I wonder how far will de Blasio push this? Would he, for instance, use the current crisis he created to bring in the DOJ or Obama Brownshirt overseers with Obama’s blessing?

Um, no they don’t.

Ref: Williams vs District of Columbia. Supreme Court decision.

The police unions hold the upper hand here, so long as they are doing it under the auspices of reasonable actions to keep the cops safe. The funny thing is going to be seeing the Libs start talking like Scott Walker on the power of public employee unions.

If you respect your family m your material goods and do not what them to endure a life without you, then you may wish to consider other employment. Because the ferals don’t care what you, DeBonehead, or the cops say.

Blame NYC idiots that causes this mess with their liberalism.

Work slowdown already, and tomorrow is New Year’s Eve. Hizzoner needed to kiss some serious butt here and he didn’t do it. Best of luck to the folks in Times Square.

The thing that is going to put an end to this was addressed in an article I saw today about statistics for arrests and desk appearance tickets in New York City for the last seven days. The article said that arrests and summonses are down a staggering 94% from the same week last year.

DeBlasio is going to lose this battle because his city government is going to be bankrupt at this rate.

So if De Blasio gives them the raise they want, expenses go up. If not revenue goes down. It’s the taxpayer that gets screwed regardless.

Again, a crazy person killed 2 cops. Both De Blasio and NYPD are using it for political means...

He’ll tout the 94% reduction in crime and more libs will vote for him.

Thanks for your reply. Respectfully, the sidewalks of NYC is not a place where one wishes to exercise Constitutional Rights. Not saying that is a bad thing, just saying, the best encounter with Law Enforcement, (especially in NYC) is one where you are free to go. Had a pal go to the “Tombs”. He was exonerated, for what it was worth. To him, not worth much . . . .

Its a moment like this that makes NYC most vulnerable to the likes of the religion of “peace” and the likes of competing groups inclusive of Lisa Filthian.

To be clear, I do not want to see good people suffer.

That said, at this point, people see whats happening and should take full responsibility for their actions. If they stay there for whatever reason, they have nothing to complain about.

For thousands of years people, seeing the writing on the wall left and crossed oceans and deserts with nothing but a prayer to their name. People can either save themselves and their families, or not. It’s their choice.

I’m from upstate. I left years ago with a daughter and little more than a prayer to my name and a plane ticket. I rebuilt our lives and I would do it a thousand times over. And it was because of far lesser reasons than a threat to my/childs life.

The officer had both a shield with his number, a name tag and additionally the officer’s name is printed on the summons. For what would your nephew have been ticketed? And unless he was going to be issued a desk appearance ticket it would not be classified as a misdameanor. A moving violation such as not wearing a seat belt is issued to the driver of the vehicle, so if your nephew was not wearing a seatblet the violation would be yours as the driver. Not saying your encounter didn’t happen, but your description raises some questions. Also did they ask you for money. That would be corrupt act.

If the ignorant mayor of NYC does not unmitigatedly apologize to the HYPD, there can be not even be a start to reconciliation.

After all, he told the world that he has warned his own kid about the ruthlessness of NY policemen. If he cannot trust the police, how can they forgive him?

Anybody that goes to Times Square tomorrow is completely out of their mind. It would not surprise me in the least if a few car bombs go off and a few thousand people are killed. My brother lives a few blocks from there and thank God he went to California for the week. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be a cop in that liberal p*sshole posing as a city nowadays. My father and uncle are retired NYPD cops and my cousin was until a few years ago until he quit. He said first off you make less than taxi drivers and second you get the living crap abused out of you every single day. So i cant even imagine what it is like now. That city better get on their knees and pray cops don’t walk off the job because if that happens it’s going to make the LA riots look like amatuer hour.
