You are correct with your statement. That is what he said.
you are or you're, btw.
Roll Tide!
I can read friend. Paul Bryant Jr was not the problem. UAB costing the school and state several hundred thousands of dollars every football season was the reason. You being one of the three UAB fans would not agree with any of that. And how many season tickets did you have? How much did you pour into the program? Oh, right, I see. None. Okay.
Pretty tough for a football school to make it without an on-campus stadium these days.
Which will be totally impossible for UAB unless they play in the middle of the street between the hospitals and the VA hospital.
And this from UA’s very own Crimson and White...

Alabama BOT on UAB’s attempt to hire Jimbo Fisher years ago...

I teach at Auburn University.
I am a ‘Bama fan, but do not hate Auburn like most ‘Bama fans do. I mean, at least it’s “War Eagle” every payday, right!?
When they are not playing ‘Bama and they’re winning won’t upset Alabama’s quest for the Crystal Football, I do cheer for Auburn. But I believe the conference is great and we like having formidable opponents we have to play.
The SEC is what Big Ten football was 30-40 years ago, and Alabama is the heart of SEC football.
Go Buckeyes!!
“How come UAB is giving up football?”
Because everyone is an Alabama or Auburn fan and they have no support. Stupid to ever start football.
Thanks to all of you. I have an old buddy who is, or was, a professor at UAB, but I doubt that he has anything to do with football. I was really surprised that they’re shutting down their football program. Your comments make sense of it.
Right, but you don't see Pac-12 fans cheering for other Pac-12 teams out of conference loyalty, or in the Big-10, or the Big-12. In fact, you don't see conference loyalty or solidarity in any other conference or division anywhere, in any sport, in any country, in any era where mankind has played sports, ever.
It's a distinction you'll only find with SEC football fans, and the rest of the world thinks it's weird and silly.
I worry.
I don't think Bama's team this year is as good as last years.
There's a heck of a lot about the South that the rest of the world think is weird and silly.
Most Southerners don't give a damn what the rest of the world thinks.
I can't imagine cheering for a team simply because they happen to be in the same conference as a team I liked. Who cheers for a conference? It's dumb.
Well I don’t know what to tell you. I disagree that it is dumb, weird or silly. It just is.
