Ladies and Gentlemen, as the new CEO of SONY Corporation, I am hereby announcing our strategy for the challenges presented by the North Korean hacking incident. I have:
1) Contacted via our representatives all our participating theaters, urging them to show "The Interview" at a special late night showing as the only film offered in that time slot. We don't want any innocent byestanders hurt and therefore all who attend will understand the risk they are taking.
2) Assembled our legal team to indemnify all said theater owners who screen the movie, both against physical/property loss and against lawsuits, should any follow any terrorist incident at any showing.
3) Offered additional sales people for the theaters and hired 20 additional bookkeepers so that we can keep track of all the money that will flood in from Americans who will say "SCREW YOU" to the NORKs.
4) Put in place a plan to use all profits from "The Interview" for "The Interview, Part II: Iran Calling."

I saw a report that they also cancelled a Steve Carroll film called “Pyongyang” but I never saw confirmation anywhere that this was even a real project

We are worried that those over paid and under educated actors/actresses will starve.....
For starters, Sony employs thousands of Americans.
Well, a lot of American jobs are at stake, who is next?, and it appears that their American employees brought them down.
Considering the threats of 9/11 style attack it really puts Sony in a bad spot. On the outside chance that one or more theaters are blown up then what?
Sony's IT practices are atrocious, they deserve what they get financially.
We might want to consider whether this movie was worth fighting for. It had some fairly raunchy stuff in it (the orgy scene or so I’ve heard) so I’m not all that convinced many here would go to it. I know, I know, it’s not the point. And yet, I think it is.
The coal industry employs a lot of Americans too. Our government doesn’t seem to care about them.

Ultimately, if you can be intimidated over ANY content (see the Mohammed movie), you can be intimidated over all content.
A real President would park a Boomer off the coast of NK and quietly inform the NK’s that if there are any problems at any US movie theater or if there are any further hack releases HK would cease to exist.
We have a military presence there, for one.
Alas, that's what we don't have.
