It was the sword of choice for the discerning Viking - superstrong, and almost unbeatable in battle. Yet mystery surrounds a small number of Viking swords researchers have uncovered. They are all inscribed with a single word - 'Ulfberht', which experts believe may reveal their maker.

My guess to the mystery of the advanced metallurgy of these swords is they were forged by Elves. :0

"Ulfberht" is probably a Nordic Dialect Term for

"Made in China."

I’ve watched that twice. The guy has some great skills and the story was fascinating, especially all the knock-off copies. Git yer gen-you-wine Ulfberhts here, step right up.

Something like 170 REAL ones found. Ones with good steel. But they found a lot more crappy iron swords that had the name on them. Many of those misspelled it.
