I guess the cheese eating Kim has no sense of humor. His dad did not seem to mind "Team America World Police". Funny fact is my dad claims I am a distant cousin of the despotic Kims. So what are the chances of a VIP Trip to North Korea? :0 One of the leaked documents says Sony spent $44 MM making "The Interview". Looks like that will be a total loss.

Hollywood people are UTTER COWARDS.
Wow, I was going to see that stupid film simply over the premise that I’d been threatened.

Well, I would not find it funny if it were about me. But this is not just that. It is about a foreign leader. For that matter, can you imagine if they made a movie about assassinating Obama? Would that even be legal, at least while he is still in office?
Of course the reaction is outrageous. But what did they expect?
On the bright side for Kim, this should qualify North Korea for normalized trade relations in Obama’s playbook.

Sony IMHO needs to do the following...
Just put the dang thing on the net You-Tube or whatever for free.
A bazillion people will see it, laugh and Dear Leader will hate it even more when copies sneak in with subtitles into his workers paradise...

I’m not up on this. Hackers are threatening to screw up theater’s computer systems if they show this movie? What’s in the movie that scares the hackers so much, and aren’t there countermeasures they could take?

44 million is pretty small budget for a studio film. With these stars, even if it never shows in theaters, it will still make a profit in rentals and DVD sales.

They’ll make money sending it straight to video.

“Hackers are threatening to screw up theaters computer systems if they show this movie?”
The threats were non-specific, but made reference to 9/11, so there is an implication of actual violence against theaters.
“Whats in the movie that scares the hackers so much, and arent there countermeasures they could take?”
The hackers are employed by the state of North Korea, and the movie makes fun of their dear leader.

...it will still make a profit in rentals and DVD sales. Not unless the consumers read the Interview's reviews before heading out to the store.
To: Bettyprob
Don't read the reviews...

The film is receiving incredible free publicity, more people will see it than Sony ever dreamed possible, it will achieve cult status and may actually serve to undermine the Kim regime.

Sony should consider making a movie about Mad Mo and his blood lust and pedophilia.
Should be an engaging story.

Way to establish a new political model.
1. Hack the studio.
2. Control what they release.
No one had to give in. I’d rather they are provoked now, before they get stronger. Which they will.

No, I think--like it or not!--there is fear that given the strange behavior of North Korean diplomacy, the LAST thing we want is a movie shown that could drive that country over the edge and do something drsatic for all the wrong reasons (we all forget North and South Korea are still technically at war with each other; there is only a truce in place to prevent further conflict).
