The National Institutes of Health through its National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases has awarded $524,403 in taxpayer dollars to San Diego University to study diabetes and sexual orientation in women.
“Type 2 diabetes (T2D) contributes to substantial morbidity, disability, and premature mortality in the U.S.,” the grant said.
“Lesbian and Bisexual (LB) women may be at elevated risk for developing T2D because they are more likely than heterosexual women to experience Obesity and other risk factors linked with T2D such as cigarette smoking, Violence victimization, and depressive distress,” the grant added. …

They are overweight for the same known reasons other people are overweight. They eat too much and are not burning off as many calories as they intake. They eat because being overweight keeps people away. Particularly men. They overeat because they hate themselves and its self-punishment. They overeat because of daddy issues. They overeat because it’s comfort food and food doesn’t judge you. THey overeat because they have tied food together with love. They overeat for a whole host of already known reasons.

The NIH wasted a half million taxpayers’ dollars to figure out what has long been commonly known by sentient beings?
What’s next; a grant to study why homosexual men and druggies who use needles have an elevated risk of contracting AIDS?
Typical of “use it or lose it” budgeting practices. ..Spend what you were allowed or get less next year.
