Does anyone listen to Mike Church on Sirius?
Me

Posted on 12/13/2014 4:43:01 AM PST by Yorlik803

My new Ford has 6 Months of Sirius Radio. I listen mostly to Patriot talk. Mike Church is on in the AM and He sounds like a real nut case. Today either I was not paying attention or he compared the EIT we did to Islamic Terrorists to what the Romans did to Various Saints. Does anyone else listen to him?

I have in the past, I just could not justify the cost of the subscription because I spend very little time in the car now when he is on..

Yeah. He’s out there now. I used to like hearing him from time to time. Now it’s hard to listen. He’s got extreme ignorant libertarian views. Now it borders on nutty.

Yep. He’s a nutcase. I know other folks who stopped listening to him as well when he started losing it. Heck, I used to go to his web site all the time, subscribed to newsletters, etc. I bought CDs of his “Road to Independence,” about the founding, which is really good. Still listen to it every Independence Day. But he has, generally, lost it.

I don’t actively listen to him, but I do have an XM radio in my bedroom that stays on all night, and I hear him occasionally. I think he’s trying to out-nutcase Michael Savage.

I miss Quinn and Rose, who used to be on XM Patriot.

You probably answered your own question with the new car subscription detail. My question would have been, "Does anyone listen to Sirius after the free term runs out?"

6 months is a doubling of the original 3 months they used to offer - probably a sign that they aren't as popular as they hoped to be.

I did until he went Ron Paul nuts and vicious about it, too.

Mike Church was once my favorite talk show host, he’s funny as all get-out but I can no longer tolerate him.

Ron Paul is great in many areas but he is too dangerously pacifist for my likes.

I dropped Sirius and found Mark Levin— I haven’t missed Church and it has saved me money.

I turned him off ages ago — didn’t take long to realize he was, as y’all say, a nut. There’s plenty to listen to on Sirius XM conservative talk or especially Radio Classics (a world of drama I hadn’t experienced before). I especially love listening to Bauer and Rose on the Patriot on Sundays,

If I want nutty nutcase, I can find Savage on the AM dial and save the subscription fee.

I download podcasts of personal interest and listen to those on my commute which varies from13 min to one hour for 10 miles.

I like Sirus because Pittsburgh radio sucks. When it comes time to renew it, the car saleman told me when they call just say that you are dropping it. each time they call they will lower the price. It takes a little work but you can drop the price to 25 dollars for 6 months.

I could never stand to listen to him, but my husband would listen on his way home from work. He would come home so agitated I didn’t want to be around him and I pleaded with him to stop listening, and he did.

Quinn and rose was screwed by the flagship station which ended up taking all the conservative talkers to a weak AM station and replaced the talk with Country Music. Last time I heard the ratings for the country went down the tubes.

Thanks for the info - I had a test run of 3 months when I bought my car and let it expire. The CD player comes in handy on long trips - can fit a lot of tunes on 5 CDs of mp3s.

I moved from Pittsburgh in February. I live in Columbia SC now and they did the same thing as Pittsburgh - - moved the conservative talk from an FM channel with good reception to an AM weak signal station. I have heard Clear Channel is trying to kill conservative talk. I have no idea why they would do it. Conservative talk was always higher rated than the shows that replace it.

I’ve kept it. I travel a lot with my job. My 2012 GMC has 182,000 miles since I bought it new. My next truck will not be GM but I will be sure to keep Sirrius/XM. It’s about fifty cents a day. I listen to Patriot channel most of the time with the ocassional c-span when there’s a hearing I want to listen to. Mark Levin is delayed in OKC so I also get to hear him earlier. Love listening to Andrew Wilkow.

I never understood the concept of paying to listen to the radio. It's was bad enough when you had to start paying for cable, and now satellite, to watch TV. When I used to travel on long trips in the car, I would just listen to whatever station came in clear enough to hear it. Then when it faded, I'd find another one. Or if that failed, I would pop in a CD and listen to music.

But paying for radio, especially now when I spend very little time in the car, no way. But I see their ads on TV and it shows people in the car going crazy, like they're on drugs or something. Very unrealistic. Who goes bonkers listening to a radio you have to pay for? I admit I don't know much about it, but if pay-for-listen radio has to advertise on TV to get subscribers, I predict they are headed out of business. Just saying'....

Love the '60s music (and a lot of the '70s to boot.

Have a decent collection to choose from to supplement whatever is on the local Oldies station.
