Scientists from the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York have created a supermouse. The new creation was designed by implanting human brain cells in a normal mouse.
Why would a group of researchers venture into the realm of something that seems like a scene straight out of The Planet of the Apes? Researchers are hoping to better understand human brain diseases by studying them in living mouse brains. The hybrid brains retain a mouses own neurons, which constitute about half of their brain cells. But almost all of their glial cells, which support the neurons, are human.

It’s been done ....obviously.
Can’t see what could possibly go wrong with this brilliant plan. Lesse: we have an animal species that is ravenous, omnivorous, and reproduces by the thousands and almost impossible to completely eradicate and we’re taking the chance on making them smarter?
Wow. Stupid doesn’t even cover it.
An excellent point. You are correct.
Soon-to-be-seen headline:
Scientists implant mouse brain cells in Democrats, create “Super Liberal.”
They tried to implant brain cells into the mind of a liberal to create a super liberal, but the experiment was not a success. The subject only became a conservative.
What’s furry and white and has a higher IQ than
Senator Bob Casey??
Tell me why G_D created mice, other than prey for my cats to play with and to crap and leave little turds everywhere. A new, improved model means what? I see no purpose served by creating a “super mouse”. And don’t tell me it’s to “save the day”.
I wonder if the supermice are smarter than Liberals... :-)
Trying to breed new GOPe’s.
Ever since I put a new ROM chip into my wireless mouse, it keeps flying out of my hand .....
These mice, even with the implanted human cells, will still have pups that are pure mouse. The altered brains do not change their germ cells.
