New York LaGuardia named North America's most frustrating airport
UK Daily Mail ^ | December 2, 2014 | John Hutchinson

New York LaGuardia has been named as the most frustrating airport in the US and Canada. Taking into account the time it takes to get there, the security processes, the quality of the terminals and facilities, and how many flights get delayed, LaGuardia takes the crown it doesn't want. Around 3,000 frequent flyers gave their opinions on 36 airports in the US and Canada; the 25 busiest US airports are listed as well as six of the seven busiest in Canada.

Are you sure you don’t have CLT and IAD reversed?

Charlotte is an easy walking airport, Dulles not so much.

Although BA’s new lounge at Dulles is quite nice.

GRU (Sao Paulo) makes CDG look like paradise, and I hate CDG.

If you land at the end of Charlotte, and need to make your way to the Int’l area....it’s a hefty walk. I’d say Philly has the same problem.

I had some travel agent give me an Atlanta hub episode two years ago....arriving and having just over one hour to get from gate at the very end of the whole airport....then making it to the exact opposite end where int’l flights take place. It took almost every minute of that hour to cover the distance...even with the subway running.

I didn’t know they haven’t finished the Dulles Metro station. Good grief! They were working on the project about 5 years ago, the last time I was there.

Well, what do I expect? It’s a government operation.

I can see that...if you fly in on American Eagle and need to connect for Intl...

I was just around the world in November:

HKG - BOM - LHR - IAD

HKG - massive airport, you know when you see a diectional sign to gate 530 :-), like the rest of Hong Kong, all about retail sales...

BOM, new Intl terminal much better than old terminal - but still has some Indian style bathrooms where you poop into a hole in the floor...security is tight - you can’t even enter the terminal without a passport/ticket...

LHR - expansive, but works well...T5 very nice

Yeah, Silver line only runs to Reston right now.

They are working on the airport property for the rail line, but no movement from Reston to Airport, or from Airport out to Loudoun County.

But, at least in Charlotte, you’ve got really good restaurant choices. Can we all say “Barbeque?”

Reminds me of Pittsburgh. Years ago when the current airport was built, the local authorities received some federal money to build what was supposed to be a light rail line between the airport to downtown. Well, after years of “studying” the project, costs escalated, so the project changed from a rail line to a busway. After more diddling, it was announced that the busway would not be going to the airport. Then after further delay, they couldn't afford to build the connection to downtown. So the busway ends on a rinky dink 2 lane road that is perpetually gridlocked, particularly at rush hour and right now is under construction.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson

The only way that makes sense is if you're with Delta. Otherwise you get a nice and long trip across one concourse, a trip across their people-mover, and a long trip across another to your intended gate.

Dallas-Ft. Worth International

Not sure how DFW got that low, since they don't have Atlanta's mistake (see above). That, and they manage to somehow make long layovers a good thing.

The other reason I like Mccarran- best TSA people.

Leaving Vegas back when TSA was a new thing, after the x-ray machine, they stopped me to "search" my carry-on luggage. The bag was taken out of my direct line of sight, "searched" for 4 minutes, then returned to me.

Arriving home, I went to take the banking bag out that I had put my poker winnings in... the eight 100 bills that were in that bag were gone. Glad that I took winnings and paid off my brother on the spot for the airfare and didn't wait until I got home.

Never again.
