The San Francisco 49ers are planning to trade Jim Harbaugh after the season rather than lose him for nothing when the coachs contract expires after next season.

Gruden was traded from the Raiders to the Bucs about a decade ago. Apparently, the Browns tried to trade for Harbaugh last off-season...they were a year too early, although I think they have a pretty good coach anyway.
If I were the Jets, Raiders, or Bears I would take Harbaugh in a second. The 49ers were a dog turd for a decade before he got there.
Harbaugh belongs at Meeechigan.
Go Blue!
In 1977 the Oakland A’s traded manager Chuck Tanner to the Pittsburgh Pirates for catcher Manny Sanguillen.
Only time I’m aware of such a move being made.
Contracts can be traded like Fleer cards..................
Heard he’s one of the potential choices for Florida as well although I see Michigan as a better fit than a SEC team.
So, let him coach college!”
I hear they have openings in Nebraska.
Pete Carol has to be LHAO.
Ha. Trading spaces!
Well Harbaugh is a Meechigan man. I have a feeling there will be a vacancy after this season.
The NFL pundits have Jimmyboy coaching the oakland raiders when they move to LA.
Sometimes these executives get stupid greedy.
They may well find out their next star coach is not as good as the one they had.
I remember when Art Modell fired Marty Schottenheimer after the Browns lost to Denver in the AFC championship game.
The franchise never recovered from that.
Jets, I hope.
no kidding. they have looked awful this year and the trend is downward
IIRC, the U-of-Dayton QB, John Gruden was traded from Oakland to Tampa.
“They may well find out their next star coach is not as good as the one they had.”
Yep. Like when the niners fired George Siefert because he barely lost the NFC championship game. At that time he had the winningest record in NFL history for his first 3 years, including winning a Superbowl. It was the beginning of their long slide down.
I loved Kaepernick two years ago, but (somewhat like with RGIII) it’s starting to look like he isn’t the 49ers’ answer long term.
I thought moving Kap up was a mistake at the time. Alex Smith was finally well and living up to his potential. Colin should have been kept as backup for a while. He’s a fine athlete but makes too many mental mistakes. For example last Thursday on a critical drive he had a man wide open for an easy 1st down, and threw into tight coverage downfield for an incompletion instead. They had to punt.
he just keeps getting worse and worse......in his rookie year the mistakes would have been understandable but he isn’t learning, plus Harbough’s decision making is flawed at best
