Four years for assaulting a four year old.

This is what Maine considers to be a good cop?

He had us fooled. I live in Maine and no one considers this guy to be “a good cop.”

I’m surprised he only received a four year prison sentence.
Should have been for many decades.

Cop.

Child molester.

Will he survive his period of incarceration?

Decorations are dubious. I knew a decorated Chicago police lt. who took drug bribes from dealers, busted their competition and earned praise and medals for it.

The judge also ordered Demers to pay $5,000 restitution to pay for past and future counseling for the child.

That will pay for 20 to 40 hours of counseling, to reduce the child's fear of authority figures, older males, older male relatives, come-ons from teenage boys as she goes through puberty, relationship issues if she does choose someone to be with, intense fears for her children if she has them — yeah, that's the ticket.

Those Maine judges are tight with the penny.

To even mention the term “highly decorated” with “sexual assault of a 4 year old” is a travesty of journalism in my book. The only context in which this duality should even be considered is by a court appointed psychiatrist who gives his okay for the pervert to stand trial for life imprisonment without parole, IMO.

Yep, and I’m willing to bet that there are other victims-—if he’s willing to molest his own relative four times, I’m willing to bet that little girl wasn’t/isn’t his first victim.

Those who commit pedophilic acts should automatically receive life sentences-—if their victims have to deal with the horror the rest of their lives, so should the perpetrators.

“The District Attorney’s Office and McKee arranged for Demers to turn himself in at the county jail.”

So, if you’re a government employee and you’re caught molesting a four year old, you have leave to turn yourself in.

If you’re a peasant who doesn’t work for the government, you don’t have that option.

Got it.

“As Warren issued his sentence, he rejected a claim by Demers’ clinical psychologist that Demers’ actions were out of character and may have been a result of neurological damage from post-traumatic stress from decades of police service.”

Um, yeah, not in Maine dude. NYC, Chi-town, LA, MAYBE you could claim some psychological damage, but not in the land of Moose, Trees and Blueberries, sorry.

Something about the name ‘Demers’....highly connotative in more ways than one.
Anyway any adult is a sick tasbard who would abuse a child for sex. Beyond reprehensible.

“Will he survive his period of incarceration?”

In Wisconsin, his incarceration would result in being ‘Dahmerized.’

If you don’t know who/what I mean, I’ll ‘splain...

I don’t think he should spend one day in prison.

He deserves a bullet in the head, followed by a long drop down a dark, deep hole.
