I Warned You About Bill Cosby in 2007

I Warned You About Bill Cosby in 2007 The public may be waking up to the mountain of rape allegations now, but women were coming forward years ago to warn the Jell-O Man was not so sweet.

In 2007—seven years before she publicly came forward—I spoke with Joan Tarshis, a former Hollywood publicist who claimed that Bill Cosby raped her. After our talk—and, of course, much more research—I filed a version of the following story on my website Hollywood, Interrupted. It identified a number of women who claimed that Bill Cosby had raped them. (The story has been updated slightly to reflect the allegations of the past few weeks, including Tarshis’s choice to drop the pseudonym she had elected to use in prior years.)

In my interviews with several of the women back then, I found the tale they told disturbingly similar: All were young and impressionable, beautiful, and talented. Cosby had taken a keen interest in their careers, and had offered to mentor them or otherwise open the fabled doors to the glistening kingdom of show business, for which he was a principal emissary.

All were given spiked drinks—or drugs misrepresented as medicine—and became incapacitated, the women charged. And all allegedly awoke with the unshakable sense that something wrong had occurred.

People magazine even ran an article on the lawsuits that were settled with several of the women, but never followed up on it. And from my own experience, I can confirm that the story shook people to the core: Even more than Woody Allen, Bill Cosby was a beloved figure and civil-rights pioneer; hardened editors were horrified at the prospect of taking him down. I might as well have pitched a story about Martin Luther King, Jr. philandering with white women. The story went nowhere.

They know that the allegations are true, they don’t want to go to bat for him.

I go into it with one FReeper yesterday who can’t seem to imagine the possibility at least some of these accusations have “bogus” written all over them.

I haven't seen a freeper like that yet, do you have a link to the post of one claiming that?

As far as police reports post 70 and post 73 mentions cases of police reports, but like Clinton and his one rape in 1978, it is hard to prove these cases.

While many of us feel that we got enough to know that Clinton raped Broaddrick, we have tons more evidence that Cosby is a long time serial rapist.

Your post 70 mentions a 2004 accusation. What year is it now?

As for Juanita Broaddrick, feel free to go back and read my posts made in 1998, 1999, 2000 etc.

If someone has evidence, let them present it in a timely manner. AND let them break off the relationship right after the supposed rape.

While we’re on the subject...what are your thoughts on Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill?

......”we have tons more evidence that Cosby is a long time serial rapist”....

I have no problem believing these stories are true of Cosby...it is after all Hollywoods cesspool so you expect this is ordinary for many there since it is a toilet of sexual perverts.

The problem I have is most don’t care if he did or not do this....anymore than when Clinton did.....anything goes today among the Liberals and there are far more of their kind jumping into the toilet.

Cosby is not a conservative at all.

You got that right. If he were conservative, he would have been up under the jail 20 years ago. I remember when Alan Keyes got arrested just for showing up at a debate.

Actually the drugging and raping took place in 2004, that wasn't 30 years ago and she went to the police in 2005, just as another victim from his show went to police in 2000, cases that were in the media and police hands, long before any Statute of Limitations expired.

The police buried the 2000 report on the powerful man, and the 2004 rape resulted in 13 women willing to testify and Cosby settling out of court and during this time Cosby threatened the media for covering these stories.

You must have been defending Clinton like crazy if you think that there is no evidence that Bill Cosby drugs women and is a serial rapist.

We don’t just see indifference from some of these posters, we see a passionate defense of Cosby and his activities, a defense so dedicated that they manipulate facts, ignore facts that cause them problems and even lie in many cases to protect Cosby.

From a few, we even see some pretty nasty anti-woman stuff, the ‘’they are all whores, and whores can’t be raped’’ defense.

Probably some were whores...but again ...it’s unfortunate but who cares what happens in Hollywood among their kind....they swim in the cesspool together and as much politics there as in Washington...which is why the two worlds understand one another.

But there will always be people who think a woman asks for it...and those who think just looking at a woman is grounds for suite.....times are insane today...it’s all about suing and who gets sued for insane reasons and who has the money to gain or loose. It’s not about the act though it’s often presented as so.

Remember that Cosby is also a racist political commenter that hates republicans.

Newsbusters
*Bill Cosby Rants Against Republicans, Compares Them to Segregationists for Not Applauding Obama*

Unless he had just eaten a bad cup of Jell-O pudding, it would appear that actor and comedian Bill Cosby seems to really, really hate Republicans.

The veteran entertainer made that very clear Monday morning when he claimed that Republicans not applauding President Obama’s State of the Union address in unison with Democrats were “as bad as the people who were against any kind of desegregation.” He also wondered aloud about whether or not Republicans today are upset that slavery is no longer legal.

Cosby made these remarks on the CNN morning show “Starting Point” after soon-to-be-former host Soledad O’Brien referenced how much better things have gotten for those of African ancestry inside the United States since the 1960s civil rights movement.

The famous comedian and longtime Jell-O pitchman rejected her statement.

“I don’t think so,” he said. “Not when you look at the president’s speech recently. To see people sitting down and then they there are others standing and cheering. I don’t think it’s difficult believe. I think that we have people sitting there who are as bad as the people who were against any kind of desegregation.”

Of course Cosy’s in the Democratic court......most of Hollywood is... and if your’re not.. you won’t get parts unless you know how to handle the political terrain...it’s thick there. Only ‘seasoned’ actors know how to travel that road.....otherwise you don’t get in with the in crowd. Which is why Cosby’s back on stage...he’s an untouchable.

Since Cosby drugs the women. I wonder if any ended up dead by accident?

When I first heard of the accusations, I immediately thought they were BS. But then after reading more of the details, I’ve come to believe the accusations are true, and for every woman that has come forward, there’s probably another 10 who have decided to remain quiet. Just think about that for a minute.

In Arizona, the statute of limitations is 7 years. 7 + 2004 = 2011. The DA in that case said he didn’t have enough evidence to go to trial.

Any of the women in long term relationships could have gotten proof. If they were drugged and raped, they could have gone to the cops and the DNA and drug tests would have put Cosby behind bars. They did not.

My thoughts on Clinton were posted on FR back in 98 & 99. What are your thoughts on Anita Hill?

The same type of parents who allowed their sons to do over nighters with Michael Jackson. People in this country are hung up on fame and brown nosing - like that feathers their cap - that’s why these perverts get away with this stuff. Americans worship celebrities - because we don’t have a queen and king - we put these people on pedestals. In reality, they are play actors who make lots of money and get away with their sordid acts. Makes me sick!

What does the statute of limitations have to do with a case that is already settled? The two police reports that we know of were filed long before any statute of limitations and the lawsuit over the 2004 drugging and raping was settled in 2006.

The evidence against Cosby is mountains larger than the rape accusation against Clinton that surfaced during Paula Jones’s lawsuit.

Were you ranting and raving and being so slippery and dishonestly desperate defending Clinton against Juanita Broaddrick and freepers discussing it?

Bill Cosby Under Fire By Alex Tresniowski
The Comedian Settles a Case Accusing Him of Sexual Abuse—but Other Women Make Similar Claims

What Cosby never mentioned was the civil lawsuit he settled just two days earlier with Andrea Constand, 32, a former Temple University employee who claimed Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in his Philadelphia-area mansion in 2004. Constand’s lawyers Dolores Troiani and Bebe Kivitz ended up with 13 witnesses, most referred to in court documents as “Jane Does,” who came forward voluntarily with strikingly similar claims of drugging and or abuse by Cosby. Terms of the settlement, reached before any of the women could testify, were not disclosed. But PEOPLE reporters have interviewed five of the women and share three of their stories now.

Really? Well, feel free to produce it, because his alleged victims have failed to do so up until now.

It is revealed on this thread.

How much evidence did we rely on for Clinton’s 1978 rape that surfaced in 1997 for Jones’s lawsuit?

The DA’s proclaiming that his investigation of the reported rape at the time convinced him of Clinton’s guilt?

The 13 women willing to testify to his rape techniques?

The Settlement before trial that Clinton made with Juanita Broaddrick about a year and half after the rape?

All these other women and near misses that are still emerging, and still reinforcing the claims that he used drugs on women?

All of these women can’t be lying.
Ask the late Robert Kulp, Bill’s co-star from I Spy what he thinks of the man he helped make famous.....
Oh wait, he’s dead, BUT up until his death he had some very choice words concerning what he thought of his “friend” Bill Cosby.
