24 degrees breaks old record of 30 set in 1873. Thursday morning not only broke an "ancient" record from 1873, but we also dropped to the second coldest temperature ever recorded in the month of November in Jacksonville.
According to the National Weather Service, for the second morning in a row, Jacksonville set a new cold weather record. Thursday mornings temperature dropped to a bone chilling 24 degrees breaking the old record of 30 degrees set in 1873.
If that wasn't cold enough for you, Thursday's 24 degrees also marks the second lowest temperature ever recorded in the month of November, beaten out only by the year 1970 when the mercury dropped to 21 degrees in Jacksonville in November.

Tuesday morning was the coldest Nov. 19 across the United States since 1976, some 38 years, according to Dr. Ryan Maue, meteorologist with WeatherBell. The average temperature across the entire country was just 19.4°.
An astounding 226 million people in all 50 states, that includes the tropical paradise of Hawaii, were below freezing at the same time putting an exclamation point on an already paralyzing winter season -- that hasn't even officially started yet.

Even the snow covering the ground is amazing. Roughly 50.4 percent of the lower 48 was covered with snow -- more than double the amount normally seen for this time of year. At this exact same time last year, just a scant 12.1 percent of the country had snow on the ground.

Guy at work yesterday told me the same thing. “All this extreme weather is caused by Global Warming.” Another colleague and I just laughed at him, then asked what happened to the mile of ice that used to cover a lot of North America. At least we had a good laugh about dinosaur farts and me driving my Expedition in 10,000 BC.
Only carbon taxes will remedy this situation. Shut down the coal plants here and build dirty ones in China. Make your check out to Al Gore right now.

Arctic conditions in eastern United States this week may have been the result of climate change-induced stressors on the jet stream that regulates weather over the northern hemisphere, according to meteorologists.
Residents in a large swath of the country’s east have been met with sub-freezing temperatures over the past week. And overnight Wednesday, more than 5 feet of snow descended on parts of western New York state. Media have referred to the strange weather pattern as the Polar Vortex and the Arctic Blast.
Ironically, though, it was warmer-than-usual temperatures that likely sent the cold weather southwards. Climate change-induced ocean warming in the Pacific turned Typhoon Nuri into a “supertyphoon” that punched the jet stream off its course, bringing the North Pole’s weather down over the eastern U.S., according to experts.
Scientists have said that warmer ocean temperatures contribute to more frequent and intense extreme weather, making it likely that climate change strengthened Nuri . . .

Wikipedia was created in 2001. That's the problem with 'climate change' science... Pretty much anybody can be one because your main qualification is the ability to foretell the future...
