Truman was Vice President before he was President.

I hope you were only pointing this out as an educational tool, not to make an argument that a Senate-White House move is a good one.

I would note that Warren G. Harding was an outstanding and successful businessman in the PRIVATE SECTOR before going to D.C.—he owned publishing interests, and therefore had governor-like executive experience.

John F Kennedy is a whole different conversation. :)

Lyndon Johnson was entirely a creature of Congress.

Good catch. IMHO, any changes to our ‘PATHWAY’ should be very narrow and awarded to those that have served in the US military. But I also beleive in punishing certain countries that have pushed the invasion on us....Mexico has committed an act of war IMO

Before Obama, the last member of congress to be president was JFK.
You kind of forgot Lyndon Johnson (senator and majority leader), Richard Nixon (congressman and Senator), and Gerald Ford (congressman).

Unless you meant going directly from the Hill to the White House, in which case Johnson and Nixon did stop at the vice presidency on the way.

That so stupid of you to say. I didn’t say I was happy about it, I just said it’s not going to happen because logistically it is impossible. We would have to quadruple court rooms, police forces and states attorney’s offices to even try to do it - and then all other law enforcement pursuits would be put on hold.

It’s called reality. Idiots like you can’t deal with it.

Now, do you want to solve the problem or just be a self righteous jack ass ignoramus? If you want to solve it, support a plan to Seal the border. STOP welfare and other benefits, deport the criminals as deported and watch e verify start to work.

No fuss, no muss, and the problem takes care of itself in 2-3-4 years.

Ronald Reagan was a governor before he was President...

He was also a union president (Screen Actors Guild) and said union membership is "one of the most elemental human rights".

Would’nt it be nice if the Publicans nominated Gov Walker for President rather than Jeb/Mitt?

1. Deport all ILLEGALS when caught.
2. Build the wall.
3. Fine companies that hire ILLEGALS.
4. No benefits.
5. The ILLEGALS that don’t self-deport, hunt ‘em down like the savage dogs they are and deport their ass out of OUR America.

This is war, you idiot!

You simply cannot intellectually grasp core conservative commentary and you continue to engage in name-calling.

Finally, your hopeless cowardice has long been on display.

I suggest you migrate south of the border, Pedro to be with your kind. We don’t need no steenking gutless cowards like you in America.

Good points in your #13.

Walker would be a great, battle-tested candidate for President.

That’s what primaries are for. In some ways, the primary is more important than the general.

Physical deportation of tens of millions isn’t going to happen. Better to make it impossible for them to live and work here, and let them self-deport. Start by going after businesses that deliberately and systematically hire illegals. Charge them under RICO as criminal organizations, send the CEOs to prison and seize their assets. People will get the message pronto.

So did Ford, for about 5 minutes.
