The inappropriate sexual relationship between Molly Shattuck, the 47-year-old former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, and a 15-year-old boy which has lead to the mother-of-three being charged with third-degree rape was instigated by her own son, police have revealed. According to Delaware State Police, it was one of Shattuck’s own children who urged the unnamed victim to text his mom because ‘she is obsessed with you’ after spotting photos of the teen on Instagram.

Whole thing is sordid.
But I don’t understand why our liberal Godless society thinks it’s ok for this 15 yo to have sex with, say, a 13 yo. And in fact, society encourages that and considers it normal and healthy.
Not clear this boy was a friend of any until the trysts started.
I would throw the book at the son, too. He was acting like a john almost!
I am guessing her status with children’s charities will be eradicated soon.

We had the same stuff going on when I was in school (and it was between a married lady in our Pentecostal church and her son’s friend), when my parents were in school, in the bible.
I’m pretty sure individuals making bad decisions is to blame, not “the culture.” It’s like blaming soda makers for being fat. You can do it, but you’ll stay fat until you put the bottle down.
I read the British press every day and am constantly amazed at how they get national and even local stories sometimes days before the US press. I especially like the UK DailyMail which can be found on the bottom of The Drudge Report

I live in a beach community where people walk their dogs all the time, and I have never ever seen people giving oral sex while they walk their dogs.

Maybe a few thousand years of history, plus every other society on earth? For most of the world, the Age of Consent is 13-16. Romeo and Juliet were 13 and 16. My mother was 15 when she met my 22 year old father (having us when she was 19, 21, and 22... and I'm not even close to 50 yet). Only TODAY does a large segment of our society think this is perverse, and gnashes their teeth about it. The real question is why they do it now, when it was never thus, anywhere on earth, a problem for 15 year olds to have an interest in sex. What has changed in the last generation that as made it suddenly grotesque and inspiring hate and vitriol, when it never did before?
Mom’s a felon. Son’s an idiot. But, since he’s so young, maybe he’ll grow out of it.

Look, I believe the age of consent should be sixteen. Some people want to grow up fast, so, if they’re sixteen or over, let ‘em. Anything below that, give the perp a long time in stir to think it over.
They can move out and support themselves at 16 I guess?
