At the very least, run System Restore and restore a restore point from before the problem started.

No, I’m not kidding about the PATH variable. It’s generally not a problem for the average user. But given the chance you’re not just average...

Me, too. But over the phone talking with the owner/operator can work for very simple problems. Advice by forum is very difficult to grasp any but the simplest problems right away. The best is personally controlling the target machine over the internet.
Mostly, I want possession of the cpu box on my bench. Anything else is a time-waster. As is most advice from non-professionals on a forum not dedicated to computers.

They've also moved to the top, and want them at the bottom of the screen. This is simple...just turn your monitor upside down...that's how I fixed mine...
