Vanity -the season of Eeyore - Why is everyone so negative about the midterm (or another) election?

Posted on 10/26/2014 9:31:10 AM PDT by Perdogg

Same negative attitude and same people during every election. Why is everyone so negative?

"We lose because of fraud"

"The fix is in"

"what we won, oh, it really doesn't matter any way"

In 2008 - "The polls are bad, we will lose"

In 2010 - "The polls are good, we will lose"

In 2012 - "The polls are bad, we will lose"

In 2014 - "The polls are good, we will lose"

In 2016 - "the fix is in for Hillary"

in 2018 - "We will Lose"

In 2120 - "We will Lose"

in 2284 - "We will lose"

In 2324 - "We will lose"

It’s how a lot of people think you get some kind of sick “FREEP” cred - you know, just snipe at headlines with drive by comments - the more negative, the more brilliant....or something like that.

It’s tiring. It’s un original.

Having experienced the profound SHOCK that a barack obama could even become a CANDIDATE for the office of the POTUS. many Real .Americans have simply become somewhat disoriented..and correspondingly morose..and negative?

There's a reason enemies use negative propagandists like Tokyo Rose.

Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.

People shouldn’t give up — they should do what they can. I admit, however, that I would like to see the party leaders actually focus on Conservative principles as if they were important and worthwhile. That would put heart into people.

There a negative class here.

I think for various reasons.

Old people can get like that.

Others want the Dems and pretend to conservatism.

Its also important for people to stop expecting the candidates to win for them. Elections are won by people who are engaged and active with the candidate being little more than a focal point.

I encourage people to involve themselves and do whatever they feel comfortable doing to get their candidate elected. If they're comfortable making phone calls, start dialing. If they're comfortable knocking on doors, hit the bricks. If they're comfortable writing letter to the editor, start writing. I'm comfortable with graphics so.....

Maybe most important, don't waste energy preaching to the choir. Engage with mixed crowds. I've had some very productive conversations and arguments with the left on twitter. In one case a black Ferguson resident asked me what republicans have ever done to bring minorities out of poverty. I showed her stories about charter school success stories out of Detroit. She read them, thanked me for the info and commented that democrat opposition to charter schools didn't make sense.

In another case, Nancy Pelosi posted some BS about women not making as much as men. I posted info about the 63 equal pay act and the later Equal Rights Amendment to her timeline. That stirred up a crapstorm but the info I posted was undeniable. Last I looked, liberals were asking why nothing was being done if companies were breaking the law and the democrats have control of the department of justice.

Because it doesn’t matter a hell of a lot who wins these elections. The Republicans, win or lose, are content to follow the Democrats’ lead. The Republicans do not constitute an opposition party. The actual opposition consists of a couple of Senators and a dozen or so House members and those numbers will not improve the situation measurably even if principled conservatives double their numbers, which is not terribly likely, in the upcoming elections.

You’re kidding, right?

Half the people here won’t Vote for some Republicans who are a millimeter to the Left of Ted Cruz.

Every one of those people are handing a Vote to the Democrats, whether they want admit it or not.

If true believers like us don’t support the Republican, make that any Republican versus the Commie SOB Democrat, it’s no wonder people don’t have much faith in the Election going our way.

If the Election of Obola in 2008 didn’t start the avalanche of pessimism, his Reelection in 2012 sealed the deal.

Most of us hope that the Electorate has finally woken up, too little, too late in my opinion, but we still have a sliver of hope that sanity will somehow get a foothold.

As for me, I’ll believe it when see it.

Just my $.02, your mileage may vary. Not looking for an argument, just calling it like I see it.

Mebbie ‘cause the “Republican” (barf) “opposition” (barf) refuses to do ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING to fight illegal voting/illegal voters.

The “we lose-ers” belong to the Pessimist wing of the Republican party (with Eyeore as its patron saint). The only worse group is the Collaborationist wing of the Republican party. The first expects to lose, the second aids in any losses.
