In 1973 I graduated from the European Division of the University of Maryland. The graduation was in Heidelberg, a beautiful old university city. The University sprung for a dinner cruise on the River Necker. The ceremony was held at Patrick Henry Village; the US Ambassador delivered the commencement address. I would not miss Heidelberg. Dueling scars sold separately.

We settled in on 3 different road trips, starting yesterday with a trip to Marksburg Castle then stopping at Mainz on the way back. We would have loved to seen more of Mainz but with DST already gone in Germany it was too dark to see much by 6pm. Today we are going to Kloster Kruezberg for lunch and a beer then to Bad Orb. Sunday will be Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Wurzburg. It's been a wonderful experience.
