Overworked bullpens tend to fall apart at some point and Kansas City’s just did in inning #6. Let’s hope then can come back tomorrow and go home leading 3 games to 2.

Overworked bullpens
11 to 4 now. This rout started when KC did the intentional walk and loaded the bases a while earlier.
I have never quite understood the value in that.
Next batter up sends 2 runners home, breaks the KC momentum and sets up the rout by SF.

It is a roll of the dice to be sure. You have to be mindful of the batters involved, setting up the double play, etc. Doesn’t always work out, but you are in a hole anyway.

That intentional walk makes no sense to me either. I wish someone would explain the theory behind it. My guess is the batter up is too good of a hitter so one base beats a home run.

The Royals are toast. It is only a question of how much more they can embarrass themselves.
This is the team I recognize.

They play seven. They all start at 0-0. It is a LONG way from over.

taxes are higher in Kansas...”
Used to live up there and hated to go to the mailbox in December and open the bill for the personal property tax - and just before Christmas. But Shawnee Mission schools were great and Overland Park/Lenexa area was a wonderful place to raise a family.

Supporters of the Royals seem to be in the majority tonight.I barely follow baseball, but I do have roots, as my grandmother was a Phillies fan, and I used to listen to the games on radio when I visited her as a kid. When the Phillies won in 1980, I was wreck! That blindsided me. I didn't know I cared.
Well, as circumstance would have it, I listened to the Royals Angels final game during a car trip, and saw the very ending on TV upon arrival. So, I became a sort of Royals fan, as who wouldn't. Then you've got regional associations, and I'm always against California, because they're such smarty-pants.
I take it that these are the sorts of influences that add up.

Giants fan, here. KC is a very good team. The Giants have a great shot to win game 5 with MadBum on the mound. The key for either team is getting to the 7th inning with the lead....

I’m no Royals fan, but I thought that play was the moment of excellence of the game. Dyson prevented two more runs from scoring on that same play.
Royals fielding has been superb throughout the post season, but the Giants have been a powerful playoff team in recent years. I used to be a big Giants fan way back when I was young, but they turned me way off with their “Until There’s a Cure” nonsense, celebrating deviance to the hilt.
