The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

This makes me livid. My children are precious to me and that our government willingly places this country’s children at risk for, what, more power? Votes? Destruction of the USA? is maddening. I feel helpless and so sorry for the parents of children who are needlessly suffering.
I have read that improved hygiene (widespread use of running water, etc) in the US coincided with the introduction of vaccines. Cleanliness played a huge role in the reduction of these diseases...polio is spread through fecal matter so flushing waste and having clean running water and soap available in most bathrooms would greatly reduce the transmission of it. Needless to say, people coming from 3rd world countries have no idea of the standards for hygiene we have here. The somalians have no idea what to do with tubs and sinks. Mexicans are not used to toilets that can handle waste and tp so they tend to throw the used toilet paper in the trash, or on the ground next to public toilets if there is no receptacle there. We know landlords & property managers in our area that has a high population of both. It is a tremendous potential for the spread of disease.

Local radio had a ‘Dr. somebody’ on this morning about Enterovirus. Sounded like PR BS to me. I just fired off that link to him...
Simply put Obama has never seen himself as the president of this nation. He’s always seen himself as something bigger and for that we suffer.
In other words, if you’re relying on Obama for any more worthwhile health action than he’s taken with economic action, you’re f*cked.
The Obama government is worse than worthless - they’re simply scr*wing everything up worse than if there were no government at all.

Many of the cases of measles were, in fact, brought home by unvaccinated people who traveled to other countries and brought back measles as a souvenir. We can thank the anti-vax fanatics for this one. Everyone should be vaccinated for measles, mumps, rubella, etc.
There are plenty of diseases coming across our border, though. What happens if, among the illegals pouring across the border, some have malaria? And then our native mosquitoes catch the malaria from them? Malaria used to be a major killer in this country before we eliminated it by killing all the infected mosquitoes. The mosquitoes that can catch malaria are still around—they just aren’t sick, these days.
As a mom with 3 kids under 7 who are fighting this, I desperately wish the media would shout from the rooftops about this.
My 5 yr old was rushed to the hospital last week with breathing difficulties & low oxygen levels because of this, after she passed out at the pediatrician’s office. Now, no one wants to test the kids for it. You get all sorts of excuses, and when I pressed the Dr. for testing, they said that per order of the CDC, no kid should be tested unless they were in the ICU. Since my daughter wasn’t in the ICU, no one would test. Unbelievably frustrating!
Please, get your kids vaxc’d this year! I know some folks are opposed, but if your child comes down with D68, they will blame YOU. The only reason why we weren’t blamed for my daughter’s illness was because we were 1st in line at the pediatrician’s for the flu shot. First question in the ER was, “Did your child get her flu shot?”
Finally, to get back on subject, we are pretty sure my kids got D68 from illegal kids. My 7 & 5 yr. olds are in a Sunday School class filled with an overwhelming majority (90%+) of illegal kids. We homeschool, so they did not get it from public school, and we just moved to the area, so no real friends yet. While I am happy the illegal kids are getting a spiritual education, I really, really wish they would stop getting my kids (& other kids)sick!
And yes, I am mad as hell at Obama & Co for allowing this to happen & not controlling it after it became obvious so many kids were becoming sick! No one in the media will touch this issue with a 10 foot pole. Sad!
