Renee Zellweger debuted an entirely different face Monday night, leaving fans and entertainment industry experts wondering why the “Bridget Jones” star looked so different. A close confidante of Zellweger’s told FOX411 that her drastically different look is a result of the 45-year-old actress’ insecurities.

The photo shown isn’t a particularly good pic of her. I’ve seen others of her since she had the work done and IMO, she looks fine... different.. but fine.
She ruined herself permanently. Just wait until she starts seriously aging in 10 years and imagine what she will look like then.
Yeah, I’m not seeing what the big deal is. Oddly, her eyebrows are fuller in the second picture. She must have tweezed them and then they grew back. And there’s more lines around her mouth in the after picture, either from her expression or from the years in between. Other than that, I don’t see any difference.
If she looks like Elizabeth Taylor in her prime then that is not fine. It's a tragedy for a fan.
She was fabulous in “Cinderella Man”, IMHO.
Very talented. Too bad she felt she needed to do this.
Now she looks just like every other actress “of a certain age” who has had “work done” in Hollywood..very generic.
Looks like with/without makeup to me. The woman has a perpetual squint and puckered-up look. Almost anything would be an improvement IMO.
I agree with Rivers. I’ve always thought she was borderline ugly. Now she’s worse. If you’re ugly and get plastic surgery, you’re still gonna’ be ugly but with a tighter face.
I thought she had a unique look.
What was often said about her is best expressed by the jokes told about her after her plastic surgery:
"Renee Zellweger did not have plastic surgery. She just finally finished that extremely sour everlasting gobstopper."
"Renee Zellweger didn't change her face.....she just stopped sucking on lemons."
Or, during the Oscars:
"Seth MacFarlane and Renee Zellweger are having a squint-off backstage."
It’s really sad. She’s kind of beloved for the round puffy face and slit eyes. Own it, go with it, that is how America, or the world, likes you! Now she looks like anyone. Longer face, more open eyes, makes her nose look bigger. Nothing special about her. She is not Renee zellwegger any more.

Her old face was unremarkable which made her roles seem more real, as most of us look unremarkable...To me, that along with her acting ability is what made her a star...Apparently she had the HollyWood look envy and had enough money to do something about it...
It also had emotion and is interesting. She always seemed so authentic. Now she's just another too-perfect face.
Nothing is more attractive than the face of a senior citizen who has lived well. JMHO
Everybody out there has work done, if they say they haven’t they’re lying, men and women both. Sometimes it’s too aggressive and sometimes it’s just unfortunate, whether that’s due to a problem with the surgeon or something unique to the patient.
Hers looks to have been a little too aggressive, and the one thing that really made her look like herself was her eyes, she’s had sort of hooded eyelids all along. It didn’t look bad it looked vaguely exotic.
That’s gone now, too bad. Maybe it’ll relax and settle in over time, it’s sometimes too taut in the first few months.
There have been far worse examples.
Man, was Nicole Kidman smoking hot in that movie.
Yes, a shame.
A hugely famous actress who garners millions per role. Yeah, I’d trade insecurities with her any day.
