My sources say there has been a major release of U.S. oil reserves

It appears the U.S. government has made a major release of oil reserves to deliberately affect the price of fuel prior to the elections.

The government is scheduled to announce the social security cola on Wednesday. Since 1975 the cola was less than 2 percent only three times except recently, if the cola is low next year it will be the fifth time in the last six years. Coincidence anyone? I always wondered why the gas goes down in price for a little while this time of year.

In some states, ethanol content goes up at the start of fall.

Here in SC regular 10% is 2.99 about while plane unleaded non-ethanol is 3.60 ish.

There’s not enough in the reserves to affect the price as much as we’re seeing.

Demand is lower, supply is higher due to fracking.
Pretty much end of story.

Gas stations here in FL are no longer required to add crapenol to the gas.

So you think that the 5MM barrel reduction in the SPR in the last 6 months, which was reported, did NOT happen.

Why?

5 million barrels drove prices down during a period of 15.5 Billion barrel consumption?

1) There is not enough oil in federal reserves to affect the price of crude oil.

2) The federal reserve holds unrefined product (Crude), it does not lower the price of gasoline upon release.

Those with long memories might recall that Clinton did this in the 2000 campaign when the SUV driving soccer mom set was starting to abandon Al Gore.

Between this and the 11th hour revelation on Bush's old DUI charges, what was supposed to be a decisive election turned into a cliffhanger.

Prices paid for the test sale in March were nearly $100 per barrel.

That’s not what they are for.

Doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen — with the corrupt people we have in charge since 2009
