Mercer county...family farm area...has/is being “alerted” about ebola risk. It could be some exposed in Ohio have been to Sharon or tourest areas and the chance of spreading is more than we have been told.

P6, please update any news you get on Ebola in Mercer county. I know there are a lot of rumors swirling around many places, but I always believe “some” factual item starts a rumor rolling.
This morning, there is a thread about the BF of Nina Pham, that he is hospitalized and symptomatic; and other threads saying the Dunan relatives are “free” of quarantine today (but is 21 days enough? Some epidemiologists are saying 40+ days).
Good news, more Dallas PRESBY healthcare workers could also be approaching their “all clear” day.

Oh great! Ebola (potentially) in Mercer now?
Son’s best buddy went to the emergency room with the flu last week. He was vomiting a LOT. Son asked him if they asked him if they asked any questions that would indicate they had concerns about ebola. He said they asked him if he had flown anywhere recently, if he had contact with anybody from outside the country, etc. They put him in a room away from the others and did blood tests. He was sent home shortly after that. We are in a town with a huge university and a large foreign student population. Son’s friend is fine. The flu is pretty much gone now.

No word on Q&R....very discouraging! FWIW my station seems to be gettng a lot of strange new equipment. Maybe for HD or Sat broadcasting. Or maybe we will buy WTAE/Disney in Pittsburgh.

Meanwhile I can’t find BIL’s facebook post about the ebola alert but that’s not unusual. I rarely go to facebook and never find anything. IIRC he said it’s jut being passed around quietly to not cause a commotion. There are reports some people who MAY have been exposed were in Sharon and lots of people from rural Mercer go there to shop or eat.
So the alert is just to let those people know to wstch for symptoms.
But then as was mentioned with flu season starting how can you tell?
Our poor hibiscus is so confused. Only a couple blooms all summer but now that it’s indoors it’s had 4 or 5 with at least that many new buds out and ready to bloom.
The Mrs has jury duty today and she is not happy..

Ugh! Jury duty. I’ve been called up twice, but the lawyers kicked me off because I work in the office with the court records. Hey, I could have gotten out of it before I got chosen, but I figure nobody can say I don’t show up for my public duty like everybody else!

If Obama has accomplished a single thing in his presidency (other than trashing out economy and foreign policy) he has raised the bar of presidential incompetence to the point that Jimmy Carter looks like George Washington by comparison.
I’ve felt uneasy about this pope since day one. Loved Benedict and still suspicious about why he stepped down.
