On the other, there are streets filled with spacious homes, well-manicured lawns and yoga studios.
This is one of numerous fences that have been erected by the wealthy 'haves' of the Michigan suburb of Grosse Pointe Park to 'prevent 'have-nots' from Detroit from driving into the city'.
The brick barrier, reading 'Road Ends', represents a significant divide between the two cities, which despite their proximity, differ greatly in terms of average salary, crime rates and general desirability.

Mainly spoiled family hipsters and trophy wives who drown their hours in Oprah and without their rich husbands, would likely be on public assistance. The hipsters, if they lived the reality of their asinine philosophy, would not be living in a nice place like Grosse Pointe if they didn’t have their rich hardworking conservative fathers.
An unrealistic irony, but the type that are unwilling to live by the reality of their ideals. Like the Pharisees.
It won’t just be the ‘shiftless’ that will be poor either. It will be the hardworking, but the ones who do not have the connections to get the job or get the right person to notice their resume.

Considering the crimes committed by upper class kids, but usually with their punishments downgraded or with the right judge, dismissed, I must say that I don’t think that upper classes are that perfect in their manners and behavior.

I’ve spent time in the ghetto and I will tell you that yes, they are lost people who never even really try to better themselves in too many real specific ways.
I keep wanting to suggest that they bus kids from GPP to Detroit (she has four kiddos), you know, for equal opportunity and all that social justice. I think beloved niece would totally lose it, so for family peace, I just gig her a little from time to time.

I fully agree; bluntly, I wonder how many of those snotty trophy wives would assent to having their spud-lings get some REAL WORLD ‘hood’ experience. I think Detroit should be viewed as a kind of example of what happens if you mess up in life one too many times.

Exactly. I wonder how long until rioters realize that the fence separating them from Detroit is very low and can be easily crossed. A little ‘raiding’ in GP would teach the liberals a lesson about reality.
