PALM DESERT (CBSLA.com) — The body of a 23-year-old missing CSUN student was found Thursday along the 10 Freeway in Palm Desert, authorities said.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office confirmed the discovery near Cook Street and Washington Street, according to CBS affiliate KESQ.

LAPD officials said they were conducting an investigation but confirmed the body was Abdullah Abdullatif Alkadi.

His remains were discovered yesterday — about 150 miles from where he was last seen — around 11:50 p.m., authorities said.

The missing student, the son of a prominent Saudi Arabian family, had last been seen at his home in the 9900 block of Reseda Boulevard about noon on Sept. 18, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD said Friday that Chief Charlie Beck would conduct a news conference on Monday to discuss the investigation into the disappearance and death of Alkadi.

Because the investigation is at “a crucial juncture,” further information surrounding this investigation will not be released until the news conference, police said.

Friday afternoon, CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison released a statement regarding the news of Alkadi’s death.

She wrote, “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Abdullah Alkadi. On behalf of the entire campus community, I extend our condolences to his family and friends during this heartbreaking time. Losing such a promising young life is tragic … Please join me in supporting the family and honoring Abdullah’s memory during this time of grieving.”

KCAL9’s Brittney Hopper spoke to the deceased man’s brother Ahmed — also a CSUN student — and he was too grief-stricken to appear on camera.

He told Hopper his family had a lot of questions about Alkadi’s death.

“His brother says around the time of his disappearance Alkadi sold one of his cars, an Audi S-5, via Craigslist. The vehicle has a suggested retail price of roughly $52,000.”

Exactly, Rich Arabs love living the big life in America, but behind closed doors, they hate us and our country. If Islam is so great, why in the hell are so many muslims in our country surrounded by us heathens? Go back to Riyadh..

One of the dangers of trolling for a queer hookup at 11:50 pm.

Was his head still attached? The religion of pieces has its processes for eliminating undesirables and infidels. Just asking.
