WHO faulted for Ebola failures as Obama taps czar

The World Health Organization bungled efforts to halt the spread of Ebola in West Africa, an internal report revealed Friday, as President Barack Obama named a trusted political adviser to take control of America's frenzied response to the epidemic.

The stepped-up scrutiny of the international response came as U.S. officials rushed to cut off potential routes of infection from three cases in Texas, reaching a cruise ship in the Caribbean and multiple domestic airline flights. Republican lawmakers and the Obama administration debated the value of restricting travelers from entering the U.S. from countries where the outbreak began, without a resolution.

But with Secretary of State John Kerry renewing pleas for a “collective, global response” to a disease that has already killed more than 4,500 people in Africa, the WHO draft report pointed to serious errors by an agency designated as the international community’s leader in coordinating response to outbreaks of disease. …

This administration will try to pass the buck to just about anyone and never take any blame. The UN this time too, even in spite of how justified that may be, but it won't absolve DC and their twisted open-borders policy.

The fact that President Obola appointed a political hack to handle the Ebola crisis is evidence that the administration is more worried about the political fallout then they are about the safety of the American public.

I think we all understand that the GOPe loves czars (McCain certainly does) and can’t wait until it is their turn to make their appointments.

Appointing czars must precede any effort to militarize and more efficiently organize NIH, CDC, HHS, DHS and any other overlapping departments in the GOPe vision of super-efficient policing.

. . . as President Barack Obama named a trusted political adviser to take control of America's frenzied response to the epidemic . . .

Is this the same trusted political adviser who didn't even bother to show up for his first Ebola strategy meeting?

Is this the ebola czar that missed the first meeting and isn’t due to start this new position for five or six months from now?

Ok. Two male strippers figured out that after clause contact with an infected and globe trotting nurse that they need to quarantine themselves without government approval, advice, or other interference

As I told my congressman’s staffer yesterday, the US figure out how to at least attempt keep communicable diseases from immigrating into the country in 1847 and in the 1890s at Ellis Island

Totally unacceptable

(the nurse, BTW, who blames the hapless CDC who refused to abide by the law of infection control that she, by her license is aware of)

LOL! WHO may not have done a great job handling Ebola in Africa, but it was Obama who bungled the outbreak and spread of Ebola to the US.

Obama knows that this disaster is on him. There is no denying it. A political fixer is not going to be able to change this narrative, not before the election, anyway.

Associated Press propaganda machine hard at work. Who owns this rag?

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and our duty and it is THEIR duty to protect US.

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121 or Google your congressman or senator and get his contact information and call him / her office directly. You can also call or go to their local offices.

I believe decisive response is urgent because you can’t put this Ebola genie back in the bottle once it gets out. It is a fire, it consumes all the fuel it can get and the fuel is people. The only way to stop a fire is to block it from the fuel or cool it with water. A vaccine or medicine to treat Ebola would be the water and we don’t have reliable, enough or any.

Every possible measure must be taken to stop the spread before draconian measures are imposed. What is being done now is sloppy. We are walking a dangerous road. The threat is blossoming by the day if not hour. Almost every hour there is some new Ebola development and none of them are good. This is a serious and potentially deadly event. Unchecked it could destroy or weaken the United States and facilitate our destruction by others. It has that potential for every country and that is why so many are responding with such strict quarantines. These consequences, no matter how small the probabilities, demand a full effort and significant response.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?
When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.
What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? What about our safety? What about resources we have paid for that should be protecting us?

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?
I will post this message and keep posting it until someone stops me.

That Carnival Cruise Ship with the Ebola nurse? (from a friend):
According to the last positions, Carnival Magic is exceeding its cruise (22.5kts) and max speed (25) knots, and even emergency speed according to a couple of maritime trackers(26.4knots).
http://www.seascanner.com/schiffsposition.php…;
Looks like they got denied offloading Ebola patient at Belize AND Cozumel (smarter govt than ours).
What I’m worried about is that the known liars in the CDC and .gov are keeping quiet about the status of the woman on the ship.
I’m wondering if the lab tech that handled Duncan’s blood isn’t “crashing” in her cabin and the .gov and Carnival are trying to keep this terror under wraps. Most likely they just want to get everyone home, refunds processed, load up and turn around on another cruise. Bottom line, you know. But it’s hard to know.
Live videos of pools and deck look sparse too.

From a political standpoint any change in policy is an admission of a failed policy so, were screwed.
Any policy's that improve the situation are out of the question because they expose failure.
Political hacks are good for nothing but pointing fingers.
Smoke and mirrors and fear, this is the plan and the people will simply
get used to it and give up more freedom without a second thought.

Another crisis easily used to empower government over citizens.

It's odd to me that, even now, no one brings up the sharia compliant funeral practices that really got this pandemic going in West Africa. "Islamic Burial Rituals Blamed For Spread of Ebola" is an article at Investors.com that details how the washing and kissing of the dead has lead to much of the spread of the disease in Africa. Political correctness prevents the criticism of Islamic practices. I guess we can wish this horrible disease on the even worse Boko Haram. No, it would kill too many innocents.
