The Belize coast guard is refusing to allow passengers from a cruise ship to come ashore because its carrying a Texas hospital worker who handled a lab specimen from the man who died of Ebola in Dallas, according to news reports from Belize. A White House official confirmed to the Associated Press early Friday morning that that the unnamed Dallas health care worker is on the ship and is self-quarantined. But the White House did not identify the country.

Belize
As usual, nobody reads the article. They were not boasting about handling Ebola; the US Government contacted the ship and informed the captain that there was a passenger on board who had possibly been exposed to Ebola because she was a hospital worker involved in the treatment of Duncan, in this case, by processing fluid samples.
She was part of the group that was initially told that their only responsibility was “self monitoring,” and they could live their lives but they had to take their temperature twice a day. She was already on the cruise when the current stronger measures were announced and even when Vinson was diagnosed.
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Are you a parrot?
