His Hollywood family is worth nearly $500 million but the troubled homeless stepson of Barbra Streisand whiles away his days sitting on benches and rummaging through public trash cans.
Jess Brolin, son of actor James Brolin and brother to Josh, was recently photographed picking through garbage where he lives in Ojai, California.
After losing his $800 per month apartment in 2011, the 41-year-old now lives on the streets and sleeps in vacant lots not 80 miles from his millionaire showbiz family's home.

In the early 80s I worked at a McDonald’s in Redlands, California.One of my duties was to take discarded food to the compactor after it was written off. I ate so much McDonald’s food out at the compactor that I’ve hated it since.

This is Brolin’s son, not Streisand’s, so it’s really up to him (and the man’s mother, whoever she is) to do whatever is being done for him, and to explain it or not, as they choose.
Better pray for his dad as well. This isn't the kind of publicity that Bab's wants sticking to her.
It looks like he finds PLENTY of it.
One of the perks of working in fast food. If your boss is cool, he/she will let you take the leftovers home. Many restaurants don't allow it because it might encourage employees to make too much food right before closing.
I had many a 1am snack of chicken and apple pies. Sometimes several pieces of chicken.
Some of the antipsychotic medications cause weight gain.

Been there. Some people will never understand until it happens to them. My brother passed on at 45. He was always very young looking for his age.
I didn’t see him for 4 years between 40-44 and when I did he looked like he was a bad looking 65.

How do you know what his family thinks?
Do you have the list of actions his family should/could take that would be successful in dealing with his conditions?
Statistically 2/3 of homeless are mentally ill, addicts, alcoholics, or both, or all three.
Those unfortunate conditions do not differentiate the rich from the poor.
There are many examples of wealthy entertainment industry figures that got clean and sober, but keep fairly anonymous about it.
When kids are doted to and given everything they desire as they grow up, they never learn to stand on their own. That is a parenting failure.
If these celebs want to treat their kids this way they then need to be ready to do so for life.
