Hugh Hefner’s dirty little secret
LIFE SITE ^ | Jonathon van Maren

Posted on 10/09/2014 9:42:04 AM PDT by Morgana

Hugh Hefner has been idolized by millions of men of dubious morals for his “Playboy” lifestyle—his huge mansion, never-ending stream of celebrity guests, and, of course, the girls. He is considered the ultimate playboy, the silk-pajamaed icon of the Sexual Revolution, the man who brought “free love” to the free market and made a killing.

He’s also sexually dysfunctional.

In her emotionally mauling book Pornland: How Porn Has Hijacked Our Sexuality, researcher Gail Dines writes how the infamous TV show "The Girls Next Door," which started in 2005, "provides a sanitized version of life at the Playboy mansion, never showing the reality of the experiences for the young women who live and sleep with eighty-three-year-old Hefner."

Perhaps most revealingly, she points out how Izabella St James, one of Hefner's 'ex-girlfriends,' has written that while Hefner would often often have unprotected sex with multiple women, he could not reach sexual completion without using pornography and stimulating himself.

That’s right. Porn, the most viral manifestation of the Sexual Revolution, is reducing millions of men to pathetic dependents desperately scrolling through thousands of pictures and videos—and causing many of them to become impotent. Even a man with a non-stop stream of beautiful women sleeping with him, one of the most easily recognizable sex icons of our time, cannot get off without porn.

But it is us, supposedly, who are “anti-sex.”

Those of us who hold to a Judeo-Christian view of sexual ethics are invariably accused of being “prudes” or “anti-sex.” Rejecting the Sexual Revolution and the host of new sexually transmitted diseases, incalculable amount of psychological physical pain, broken marriages, porn addictions, and aborted and dismembered “love” children that it brought with it, it seems, is the primary way to loudly declare yourself a cultural heretic.

Let me break it down. We, apparently, are the ones who are “anti-sex” because we elevate sex as an action of such significance that it should take place in a loving, committed context - marriage - one that is, incidentally, also the best context in which to raise children. We recognize that sex is an extraordinarily powerful human experience, one that we toy with or abuse at our peril. But the Sexual Revolutionaries insist that this is archaic and foolish. “More sex,” they say, “more sex, all the time and with whomever you’d like.”

Someone should make these people take economics. Basic rule: If you commodify something, you cheapen it. We’ve put cash prices on intimate human experiences, and we’ve created an industry that amounts to nothing more than a trade in human flesh. I’m no anti-capitalist, but some things should not be bought and sold. But now that millions have been pimped out by the Sexual Revolution, we do just that. We treat sex like a game or a toy. And, like over-enthusiastic children, we’ve broken it.

Here are just a very brief sampling of a few recent headlines:

- “Porn causing erectile dysfunction in young men”—Global News - “Internet pornography destroying men’s ability to perform with real women”—Daily Mail - “Does porn contribute to erectile dysfunction?”—Psychology Today

I often wonder why more people don’t see the sad irony in this. Like thirsty men and women guzzling salt water, we simply inflame our lusts with pornography, dehydrating ourselves of the true human intimacy we crave. Rather than recognizing it for the poison that it is, we claim that porn is a sex aid, or carefree recreation, or even a tool for helping a flagging marriage. Clinging to this cultural delusion is doing precisely the opposite of what the Sexual Revolutionaries promised us it would do: It’s killing sex.

Yet when people try to point this out—from self-described radical feminist Gail Dines to the Christian scholars who warned that this would happen before we even pried open Pandora’s Box—it is they who get called “anti-sex.”

Hugh Hefner built an empire selling the bodies of young, attractive women and men to millions, but his cash has not stopped him from becoming enslaved by his own product. When I consider that the very man who is envied by millions for the sexual lifestyle he leads can himself only find pleasure in the pale substitute for human intimacy he markets to the masses, it brings to mind something Christopher Hitchens once said, when responding to a Marxist in his audience. The quotation perfectly fits this circumstance as well.

“Well, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. There you have it," Hitchens said. "You see how far the termites have spread, and how long and well they’ve dined.”

And so they have.

He’s simply denying the women his precious TOXIC WASTE

-—— there fixed it.

Look I read about him once. The man done it with so many playboy bunnies he does not know how many he has done it with. That is sad if you ask me. That is a soulless, empty person.

I would imagine Hefner ultimately was very self-absorbed, cynical and lonely. He may attract women with attractive physical attributes (although in my view also very plastic and fake looking). Character-wise, I imagine nearly all would be even more cynical, empty-headed, greedy, selfish or downright stupid. Why would anyone go to the "Playboy Mansion" otherwise?

“Hugh Hefner has done MORE damage to America than almost anything else!!”

How about President Wilson, who gave us both the Federal Reserve and the Income Tax, both of those have sent this nation to her grave.

Could be that he is an old bastard with circulation issues.

The guy is no hero of mine, and I was in his “target” audience while in college and right afterwards.

I did read his magazines. I liked the stories and the “fashion” stuff —what kinds of watches, motorcycles, etc. I learned how to shave correctly from his magazine. Believe it or not, the Army does not teach you how to shave correctly.

After a while (like after I turned 16) the pictures were just that, pictures. I could never understand staring at pictures when the real thing was available, and some of them even liked me.

Its been thirty years since I bought one of those magazines. Probably 25 since I’ve even seen on.

When I became a professional photographer and I knew the “touch up” secrets, it was like finding out the secrets at Disneyworld. It just kind of took the fun out of them.

Wilson corrupted the government.

Hefner corrupted the culture.

I consider Hefner the more destructive of the two.

“Like thirsty men and women guzzling salt water, we simply inflame our lusts with pornography, dehydrating ourselves of the true human intimacy we crave.” Money quote but you can’t have a supply without a demand, Hefner and his ilk gave us the supply, we supplied the demand. Men prefer porn to women because women have become nightmare bitches who put men down every chance they get, it’s no wonder men just say F&#@ it, who needs a real woman, I’m going w/Miss November. Then we gave it away so free, why would a man ever ever “pay” for the milk he got for free; talk about economics! We cooked our own goose, marinated ourselves on “Sex in the City” bullshirt, Cosmo, and every single other magazine. Our society and Christian morals were trashed, then came porn. Time to stay close to God, if you believe in Him.

Without the income tax and the federal reserve the liberals would have no money to fund corrupting the culture. Even Zero wouldn’t have any real authority without the trillions to spend.

The Progressive Party of 1912, which Roosevelt, Taft, FDR, and the like were all members. Marxists, all of them. They did far more damage to the culture of America than any pornographer could ever do. They set the stage for demanding money from the government.

I have a good number of old 1920s/30s “Film Fun” and “Movie Humor” type magazines. No nudity. Lots of cheesecake pin-up photos, with smiling showgirls and starlets. And corny jokes. Cute, upbeat stuff.

“Playboy” on the other hand, always seemed rather pathetic, even back in its earlier days of the 1950s/60s, as it pushed that faux-stylish (but in reality, boorish and self-absorbed) ‘lifestyle’ of booze, immorality, adultery and such. It actively promoted this worldview and mindset. And it just got more putrid and more decadent as the years passed. Hefner is a true scuzz. People like him contributed mightily to making America and its culture the repellent, deranged sewer that it has now become.

Perhaps there are some other reasons why many men find porn superior to, er, the other way these days...and why the other way is increasingly leading to erectile dysfunction.

I think a more comprehensive review of the available evidence is in order, regardless of the potential damage to certain politically correct points of view.

I’ll second that completely. Porn has been around since the beginning of recorded time and isn’t going way through legislation or other means.

The idea that he and his crap are a top player in the destruction of America and its values is absurd.

Liberals and democrats at all levels are at the top of that list and always has been. Putting down the democrat party, destroying them completely, is where all of the effort and attention needs to be put and not on a purveyor of pictures of naked women. If he was the biggest threat to civilization then we should have never seen any civilization rise at all through history. It started with porn on the walls of caves 50,000 years ago and has always been with us.

Attention is needed for the big picture assault on our values by our fascist democrat party.

Hefner and his crew did not use ‘government money’ to corrupt the culture. That was done entirely in the private sector.

And that makes them worse than the public sector corrupters.

In My Opinion.

Yes. The Playboy Philosophy.

This magazine owes a lot to its Marilyn first cover. Otherwise, it may have wound up like Hustler and other stinky stuff.
